Smarty issue/question.

First off I love my Smarty.

By itself the performance gains are great and imho it really complements the TST.

The one issue I have is that everytime I do a download it wipes out the setting for the interior lamp.

The lamp still works but it goes back to setting were the lamp goes out after a few seconds even if the door is still open. I prefer the other setting were the lamp stays on as long as the door is open.

So now after every download I need to disconnect the batteries to get it back the lamp setting I like.

The other issue that would make Smarty absolutely perfect would be some type of valet feature.

I figure this could not be an update but another product you could sell. I would be willing to pay for the ability to be able to switch back and forth from a stock SW to the last performance SW I downloaded on the fly.

One other suggestion would be to be able to program the horn chirp disable when locking the doors. I know a lot of people have had to go to the dealer to get this disabled. So, if I go to the dealer to have it disabled, then flash with smarty, do I loose the feature?

The truck manual should explain the steps to disable the chirp. I can do it on my 03 and it has not needed to be reset after many smarty loadings.

Avi, the Fueling settings are emmision settings and can't be Changed, So why do people buy a Smarty? I am hoping that this reply doesn't come across as too wise guy-ish Also people have re-wiring their horns to put a kill switch in them anyway. Moose

On the 07's, the manual procedure does not work, you have to take it to the dealer to have them disable it (There is another whole thread about the 07's regarding this)

Yeah, I got that PITA horn deal on a cruise flash , every-time you put the truck on the barrels and the Horn goes off it scares the daylights out of everyone, if Smarty had the Horn disable, Bob ship me One.

All those features you are discussing are not in the Ecm guys. There is a flash that addresses the lamp issue.
