As I mentioned in another thread, not only are they weird looking, they also have "S U P E R D U T Y" spread liberally around the body. You see the front one in the above picture, but there's an identical one on the tailgate, plus one at the top of the windshield (just out of view in the photo), and one on the passenger side dash.

Geez! We get the point!

MAybe it's the angle of the camera, but the grille looks very tall. Have they mounted the bumper lower? (I doubt the hood is higher) Something just looks WAY off to me.

I'm sure the camera angle didn't help, but either way it's still fugly. To this poor trucks credit, it is a base model, so it gets the black grill treatment.

That engine compartment looks not so "user freindly" either.

We either need a green truck or a red stationwagon for a better comparison . . NOT!! WOW, I did not realize how ugly the new Fords looked, guess it's because I drive by the Ford lot and don't even glance that way. I had Fords from 1965 to 2006, rode in them all my life before that, but the Dodge with the Cummins stole me away. I feel for the guys who put up the big bucks for all the headaches. I also feel for the guys on the assy line, etc - they just may be out of their jobs for a while and maybe real soon. There are some similarities about the particulate stuff that could be of concern to our engines, certainly doesn't burn the ULSD quite right. Speaking of engines, holy engine junk under that hood, I certainly would not want to have to work on/in that mess. Talk about job security, or is that job insanity. Suppose they will ban them from the Calif highways, or areas of high-fire danger? I can see the signs on the roads now - No Flamethrowers Allowed!

Makes me appreciate my Dodge more and more every day!

You know I don't take any pitty on the Ford guys that buy these POS trucks. Anyone who has a brain cell one and does any real world research should know that the 6. 0 and from the looks of it the 6. 4 is a time bomb that will never touch the long term reliablity of the in line motor's... I work to hard for my money to waste it on a un proven truck... The engine is what makes a truck and theres no way I'd spend it on these POS's.

Supprised nobody mentioned it, but that truck in the video sounded real bad. What was all that tapping going on? First I figured it was a broke impact gun, but it changed sounds when he reved the truck up at the end.

I know what you mean Nukeman... I thought it was bad when they stuffed one turbo up there in the valley of the V8 diesel, now there is TWO!!! Plus all the extra piping and rest of the stuff that has to go in the engine compartment. I would rather have a variable vane turbo like on the 6. 7 anyday.

Edit... I just started cracking myself up because I went back and looked at the pictures and I can not see any part of the cylinder head in those pictures? Can anybody else or am I just blind? :-laf :-laf

That engine compartment is TIGHT! And I mean tight in the old way, not tight/cool. That's why they have to pull the cab to do much more than routine maintenance. I was at an RV show and saw a Class C built on the Supercab 4 door chassis. The cab over part was attached to the cab. I'm wondering how in the world they'll work on that engine? They'd have to pull the whole camper part too!

The oddball angles of things sort of make it look like a dumpster of loose parts. :-laf

Can you imagine what it would cost to fix these things once the warranty is over since they have to remove the cab. How long does it take to remove the cab? My brother-in-law is going to buy one. He has the Powerstroke bug so bad and there is nothing I can do to convince him to at least look at Dodge/Cummins. He has had Ferd after Ferd and still hasn't learned anything. All his Ferd's have spend a lot of time at the dealers. I just hate to see these die-hard ferd guys go through all this misery and then back for more. I had one Ferd and I learned my lessen. I love my Dodge/Cummins.

Yes, they lowered the front bumper, I believe 3 inches... THREE INCHES! Reason being is so that the bumper is not above midsize and eco cars crash safety bracing in the doors... . I like how the truck thats been around forever has to change to accomidate safety standards of vehicles only a few years on the road... Last time I checked we buy 4x4 trucks for ground clearance for a reason. Also, I read that the new lowered front half of the frame is dimpled so that it folds up in a crash to absorb the impact. Can you imagine the cost or repairs in a 10-15mph crash? I understand making the vehicles abosrb some of the impact, but it seems like its getting rediculas. I'd love to see one of these out fitted with a push bumper on a tow truck only to tweak the front end when he gives some one a little too hard a push... :-laf

Pulling the cab to get at her eh? Hmmmmm... maybe THATS why they stopped making the Excursion!?!

That has got to be the ugliest interior I have ever seen. They have completely lost touch.

The interior, is just like the front end, makes me say the same thing... . "Dang! That thang is uuuggleeey!"

In that picture, did you see the step thing with the handle that unfolds out of the tailgate? I guess that's to make it easier to get into the bed of the truck. A Ford buddy of mine said he thought it was cool. To me, it seems kind of silly, and easy to break.

I believe that is the Kings Ranch edition too.
The tailgate step is pretty stout, I am 6'7" and 265lb. I do think it would eventually rattle though. The only thing I like about the Ford is the upfitter switches, tow mirrors, and integrated brake controller. Still think it is a mess under the hood.
