Competition 180 pump mods and injectors

Competition Leaf spring removal.. How many?

I dunno dude, I think some of your advertising belongs in the banter forums some times. :)

How does one measure 28,000PSI? Are you using the stock rail pressure sending unit? If not where can I get one that measures a bit higher?

I use both a stock signal, and omega sensor model px91n1-50ks5t .

Interesting. I suppose using a data logger it's easy to match voltage to PSI. SPA or Dipricol ones will not work to scale since 3v stock != 3v on the PX91-5VC as far was what PSI is observed.

Tho be cool if they would adopt a gauge to work. tap a hole in the rail and just use that for the rail gauge, put a different "screen" in the gauge to show a more concentrated view of what 0-5v looks like in PSI.

A bit pricey at $900, but if you need to run 35,000PSI, you have the money.

So there , any one want to dyno side by side on a stock truck, Ill provide the truck, off the lot , you point to the over 1100 new diesels on Kirks dealerships well go up the street to Speed Tech , and test side by side, the Banks six Gun PDA with speed loader makes big power we=hen called on to do so, and that’s with out the special tuning , that it will let you do , if you accept the disclaimer on the touch screen, which I didn’t on this truck.

I'm not familiar with Speed Tech..... by "test side by side" are you meaning a drag race? Is Smarty included in this challenge?

Oh comp..... why is it that you are constantly proven wrong... . a million people say you are wrong from experience yet in your mind you are still right?

fellas i think we all know its pretty easy to get 500hp out of the cummins engine. its such a beast

bigger turbo

injectors

smarty

gauges

intake system and exhaust system

fass fuel system

torque converter

that should give u around 500hp or maybe more. ;)

it can be done with out a turbo, injectors, fass. Be a little warm, but possible.

This is for a safe 500 hp, no sense using harsh tuners to make only 500 hp. I made 598 without a tuner or a pressure box, just a good reasonable injector, ported head, MaxSpool cam SB66 turbo and II CP3 stage II . The Banks Six-Gun PDA with the speed loader is very versatile, allowing you to have a safety net and set any egt’s limit you want. This lets you find the edge and go up to it with out going over. The engineering and refinement that that goes in to the Six-Gun is absolutely unmatched. The PDA is a great set of gauges also

These combinations are something that we do all the time with new trucks , get over the fact that the Banks Product Works and now the proof is available .

Does this mean you have to port your head, change out the cam, turbo and CP3 in addition to using the Banks Six-gun PDA to get the 500 HP or what?

One thing that just doesn't make sense to me,,,,,, I have heard over and over again that you can drain the rail on the 3rd gen trucks with just a TST on level 6X6. If this is true, than it seems to me that the stock injectors are plenty capable of giving you all the fuel you need. I would be looking at Duel CP3s to keep the rail pressure up, an Airdog fuel pump to make sure you are getting enough fuel supply, (or similar, I personally can't stand FASS). And a good quality programmer. I have heard TST is harsh, I think most people know that. I also think most people know that you won't get the Bang for the Buck with Banks. Edge has great products with gauges included and lots of dependable "Safe" power and protection built in. I think Banks would have much more credibility if they would participate in events when they do show up. Banks sponsored a dyno event in So Calif. a year or so ago and had 2 trucks sitting right next to the dyno that they supplied. Couldn't get them to dyno a truck to save our souls. Why is that? Not bashing here, just the facts.

Back to the 500 hp. You have to bullet proof the transmission, have gauges and get enough fuel, and air to burn it. These are the basics. My preference is with edge because they do give you the gauges with the Attitude monitor and lots of engine protection. You can stack other programs with EDGE and I have heard that you Can't do this with Banks. And you can get the Juice w/Attitude for around $1100 installed. IMO!

GO Betty GO !!!:-laf

It's like my Dad use to say "Lay the hundreds down 'till it hurts and line them up!" Everybody whats to run thier mouth, if you can do better line them up.

Funny thing, it looks Gale Banks Engineering did do just what you asked in their new ad campaign. It appears to me to be a put up or shut up deal. http://bankspower.com/LBZ-whitePaper.cfm

You don't see the others whose products were tested and came up short, putting out a refutation, or lamentation that this was wrong.

A simple fact in the truth in advertising laws, if you don't portray the absolute truth, about competitor's product in side by side test. Those competitions have recourse, its called court. It sounds like crickets from the others. It appears to me that these test were done is a totally controlled case study type analytical environment. This is the absolute attention to every last detail that Gale Banks Engineering is famous for , and I believe you will see a lot more in the future. That is why GBE is a a resource in this type of testing from the OEM to government entities, bring the facts to light in a responsible and accurate manor .

This is not an offensive campaign, aimed at bashing their competitors but just a response to uninformed people that truly believe the propaganda proffered from the others. These people get on the public forums and speak with out any knowledge, claiming that millions know this to be fact.

These tests are the real deal, sure there are products that make more power, but do they do that in a responsible, manor that is safe for the average guy buying a $ 40,000 investment to tow his travel trailer, race car trailer, or horse rig around the country. . This guy wants better fuel economy, more power, with out the worries, that if his wife or some other person is driving, and they don't have to be careful of melting the motor. Another common rant is price it's right there with in a few dollars. So if you want to claim that the tests are false, and a lie, ask why the others aren't doing any thing about it.

I just get tired of the , people that constantly bash , and make comments, so this is my response to them the truth

I That rich guy that suckers everyone into buying his over priced stuff is a joke, "IMO" I know of a lot of disappointed people that fell for is gimmicks.

Has Banks done any testing on a Dodge Cummins truck? I'd like to see the comparison of Banks, Smarty, TST comp, Bullydog w/Crazy Larry.

Hey Mike,

How's your beast running these days?????

Great! I have put over 15000 miles on mine with a BDDLw/crazy larry and 100 hp injectors, htt 64 turbo, ats, and afe and dynoed 614hp with it and 741 with a homemade nos on it!I drive it everyware in the 614 setup and do not baby it by no means. I just put the stock injectors back in and did 541hp on the same dyno this year. So I would say this is a very streatable combo. I have a friend who has the same truck with the Banks 6 gun and I let him drive mine and he said it was more mild than the Banks and ran a lot better. Don't get me wrong Banks makes good products just a little overpriced. By the way what happened to Dr. P thought he was the best?
