2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Rusty front doors

My doors have cancer and its not getting better. Soon i'm going to have to address this. Does anyone know of somewhere reasonable to buy some new skins?

I run a body shop at a Dodge dealer and skins won't do it, you need an entire shell.

Mopar retails them at around $900, Keystone has them at around $600 retail. usually I am not a fan of body panels from keystone but their doors for the 2nd gen truck are fine.



Even the cheaper ones are pricey, probably why mine on my 98. 5 are rusting away



I've replaced many here under warranty. It's a pisspoor design.

Can you explain the design failure? Is that rubber seal trapping in moisture? Living in Minnesota i've retained the habit from my father of always opening the doors when washinig and rinsing off the door bottoms, trying to rid of all road salt. I was wondering if that moisture getting trapped in there did this.

I'm glad my truck is dark blue, if it was white she'd look pretty rough.

I'll get an official POV from my bodyman when he gets back Wed. Mine are toast. I have an intense blue truck, but I can see what you mean about white. I've seen plenty of white rusty doors.

If the vehicle is still under the paint/perforation warranty I don't see how someone could refuse.

I went in before my warranty was up and the dealer said there wasn't a hole so they couldn't do anything.

I heard of them "fixing" the doors too. You can't fix this issue, you need to replace.



I would recommend going to another dealer and seeing what their response is, if you get no satisfaction call DC.
