I'm getting ready to buy one and I was talking with a good friend who is also looking for one and we are trying to figure out what is the best way to go. he has a 6 speed where i have the auto. He wants something that you can turn on and it will do its thing automaticly like the banks does I belive. I'm not a big fan of banks so i'd rather not go that route. so I guess that leaves the Pacbrake , the BD unit, and the mopar one i belive, I'd like to hear first hand what the pros and cons are for the diffrent systems. . Thank you.

None of them will void your warranty and they all work automatically like the Banks because it's the CPU not Banks that tells it when to engage.

There does seem to be fewer problems with the PacBrake but any of them work great.

Well... if you want to consider the pacbrake... drop me a note... . we've made a lot of customers happy... . with great pricing... . check all of them out. . at their web sights..... and pick the best one for you.....

I prefer the Pac brake as it uses a small 12 volt air compressor to activate the brake. The "Jake" used a belt driven vacuum pump. The pump has had some reliability problems, not to mention it takes a special belt that, as far as I know, is a dealer only item. Give jelag a PM he will help you out and save you some$$$$

When I bought my truck used it had the BanksBrake on it and although I don't know if I would have bought it, it does work really well. I turn it on and it works pretty much on its own. Especially with my new valve body that locks in second it really slows down. The only problem I have is that because it bolts up to the turbo it limits turbo selection. I just bought a PDRHX35 even though I would have preferred an S300 hybrid but I didn't want to not be able to use the brake. If I bought one again I would probably go with a remote mount only because of the turbo issue.

got the jake brake on my 04. 5 and it works great! Cruise will even activate it automatically when it feels the need as long as the system is on. Install is pretty straight forward. Well engineered piece of equipment :)

I like the idea of the pac brake since it dosen't need the vacuum pump and a special belt. I plan having this truck along time and i like bullet proof stuff. My buddy dosen't put many miles on his but pulls heavy when he does. hes had his for 2 years and i've had mine 7 months and we both have 30k.

I use and own a Pac Brake... ... . every day, I have about 30K miles so far no issue, but I really love it couldn't live with out it... . I tow at about 26K lbs almost daily... . If you believe the advertising, the pac brake works the best ... ... find local owners and go for a drive perferable with a load and a hill :)

I bought a Pacbrake PRXB from Jelag 2 weeks ago. He gives TDR members a great price. My buddy has the Banks and IMO it sucks compared to the PRXB at low RPM. Install is very easy too. I've read alot about the Jacobs vaccum pump crapping out and it's very expensive to replace.

My '06 just turned over 40000 miles, 35k on the Jacobs product. No problems with anything. I do like the idea of the compressor with the Pac Brake versus the vacuum pump with the Jake, but I would buy another Jake.

I've got the BD brake,it to uses a compressor. So far so good. Pics of the brake and switch in my gallery.

I've had a BD inline brake on mine for about 130K+. Only problem is because it's inline I have to clean up the pivot points a couple times a year. I was too impatient to wait for the turbo mount unit.

It can't be left on with the cruise, but I wouldn't want that anyway. I have a switch mounted on my shift lever that I flip 200X a day.

If my next truck doesn't have the nifty factory built-in exhaust brake feature like the 6. 7's do, I'll get another BD.

The Minnesota Winters Or should I say MNdot is certainly tough on those in-line units, the Direct mounts are a necessity up Here.

Wouldn't do the Pac Brake again if I knew about the non existent company service . My brake compressor died bit after one year and couldn't get them to even talk to me. Braking performance is bad. Try Jake or B&D. Maybe they will least stand behind their products?
