Geno's shifter knob---Surprised!!

I order some items from Geno's for the first time and a black shift knob was one of the things. This is not a plug for Geno's! The main reason for the purchase was for a unique knob, but to my liking the transmission shifts alot smoother. My guess- the weight made the difference. I have the nv5600, which has been tight from day one. So my point is anyone that has a notchy manual - try a good heavy weight knob. Just passing my findings.

Dont think that changing the knob would effect the way it would shift.

I have to agree!!! I have an 06 with the G-56 and it just sems to shift smoother. I think it's probably just my hand getting used to the bigger knob, but it does feel smoother... :-laf

one things for sure, the factory plactic knob is TERRIBLE!



any nice round knob is an improvement.

Bigger IS better....

I bought Fat Knob a few year ago when they would tap it for the threads on our trucks. It's a little bigger than a billard ball. I LOVE mine.

I know that 58. 00 seems high but if you do a search for " Heber Ram Shift Knobs" there is quite a long thread about them. I also posted a picture of mine on here just after I installed it... I believe they are each HAND MADE from scratch and then they are supplied by Genos so every one has to get their few dollars in I guess. For me it was worth it for the quality etc.

Amsoilman and Heber,

Thanks for the good news! I've wanted to get one of those knobs for a couple of years and couldn't do it. Oo. It's kind of hard to see the keyboard thru these tears of joy. :{ :-laf I'm getting ready to buy another truck and this will make the transmission decision more interesting. Right now I have a 6 spd. manual and am considering an automatic, but maybe not as strongly as a few moments ago! Heber, they look very cool, nice work. Thanks again guys.
