Has anyone come up with a way to weigh down the back end from underneath the bed? I'm getting tired of carrying around sand bags in the back.

Thanks
John

I probably need to change the shocks too. They're still stock. I do tow a 11K 5th whl occasionally, but its the daily drive to work and back on these CA fwys that jars my teeth

My 98 2500 had a bad hop problem, I was following Dodges recomendations of 40 psi empty. At 12,000 miles I noticed the center of the rear tires were wearing out.
Knowing that the centers wearing out was over inflation I called Dodge and raised heck. There answer was "when we say empty, we mean full of tools but not loaded".

Looking at the load inflation chart that came with the truck, It showed 25psi was the correct pressure for that goodyear tire with the weight my truck had on a scale. The truck had 2 other side affects of running the inflation according to the tire weight charts. The hopping stopped and the truck would not swap ends under power as easy in the rain.

I used the same tire weight charts when I had my 02 dully (again, empty). Problem was the charts did not go low enough. I think I would go down to 30, any lower and I was figured the side walls would start to rub between the tires on each side. That helped alot.

now on my 06 SRW, I run 30 in the rear now, the rear side wall bulge looks like the front ones do. I keep forgetting to get the inflation chart from Micheline to see where they really should be for my true weight.

Thanks for the info. TowPro, is that inflation chart in the owner's manual? Guess I need to look a little closer at the docs that came with the truck. Also, does the 40psi apply to duals too?

I'll be checking my inflation tomorrow, for sure.

a set of ladder bars will eliminate your hop. I had the same problem as do many other people. It was popular subject during winter since snow will really cause some hop.

I installed a set of GDP bar on my truck and not only is the hop gone but, the truck handles like a dream. Tire spin is pretty much eliminated also... .

I know my 98 and 2002 had charts that showed weight to PSI. I looked at Klangers and they only went down to 30psi. I think if you look hard enough, the manafacture might have one on there web site that goes lower.

If I recall, I think I had around 600 lbs per tire weight on my Dually when empty. the pressure charts did not go down that low :-laf
