NEW DODGE did I do the right thing

Hey guys always loved chevy liked dodge hated ford. Dodge dealer made me a offer I coudent refuse 07 5. 9 quad 6 speed now I love my DODGE. My freind told me about TDR cool site but kinda scares me with some problems I read about. Clutches pinging driveshafts Ect. Will I be able to drive this thing for 30-40-50 thousand with out having any problems. And do I need egt boost fuel pres gauges on stock truck. Tow 30 foot camper about 9000lb. about 15 times a year. p. s. I always felt this motor was the best I have to prove it to my duramax buddies I just sold mine 01Oo. thanksOo.

Welcome Jeff. You don't NEED gauges on a stock truck but they are nice to have. It also makes it a lot easier to spot problems like boost going down or transmission getting too hot and just seeing how your truck is running. Boost gauge is nice to get the best mileage if you are so inclined. You can do that by keeping the boost as low as possible while maintaining your speed. Enjoy your new truck, most don't have problems. TDR is kind of like reading a medical book, pretty soon you worry about all the things that can go wrong with you.

At minimum an egt gauge. I have already seen 1450 degrees and my truck is stock except MBRP exhaust, which is supposed to help with egt's! good luck with the new truck, I am on my second Dodge/Cummins combo and would get another in a heartbeat!

Congrats and welcome. If your gonna keep it stock then don't do the gauges. One, it may raise unnecessary questions from the dealer. Second, if your anything like me and you already sound like your are, you will get fixated with the gauges. I had a stock truck with gauges. Seeing the egts numbers while towing scared me to the point where I babied the truck. You don't have to baby the truck in the stock form. Just drive it and let the computer worry about the numbers. It has plenty of built in features. I would recommend a free flowing exhaust muffler and maybe a Amsoil nano (dry, no oil)drop in direct replacement air filter (Part#)EAA189. Then enjoy!!!!

I'm the same way I got a new CTD in march I have 3 ford diesels . I have put a lot's of $$$$$ in the 7. 3 diesel from injectors to dual hpop to turbos head studs to fuel systems. and that truck stock will do better than bolth 7. 3 on 80hp setting. Now for the 6. 0 ford I have it pulls so much harder it's just like WOW. I hate to say it but I'm looking for another 5. 9 cr for a new ranch truck

Will I be able to drive this thing for 300-400-500 thousand with out having any problems?
