I don't know if anyone has talked about this or not. But I got mine this past week (delayed x-mas present). And I love the looks of them as I got the smoked lens and they look good with the 'theme' I am working towards with the silver truck. However I guess I'm to stupid to read everything and didn't know that they came with amber led bulbs. So my question is, does anyone know where to find CLEAR led bulbs to replace them. I know someone has em as I have seen dodge trucks with white cab lights running up an down the interstate.

Thanks

Russell

Could I see some pic's please, I am considering a set for my truck and would like to see what they look like on a 2nd Gen, on a black truck would be even better.

As for changing the LED's, most electronics specialty stores carrry that stuff, in bin or bag form.

Is it legal to change the bulb/color of the cab lights? Not looking to start legal issue battle, but up here the stop you for that stuff all the time.

It is illegal to have more than 4 forward facing lights on at anytime, Cab lights face forward hence it is illegal. My friend got a pulled another one got a ticket and i ask a state trooper about it. Illegal

I installed a set for a buddy of mine (on a 2nd gen), and it seemed like the shape of the lights don't quite match the curvature of the roof. It doesn't look bad, but it looks like water could very easily get underneath them. To solve this problem, we just put a bead of clear RTV on the bottom of the light before we put 'em on. Definitely worth the effort considering the possible end result.

I don't really understand this because if you get a truck new from the dealership and it has cab lights on there are gonna be 5 lights on the roof. Any vechicle that i've seen that has cab lights has 5, unless it's a big rig and put extra's on. I'd say your friend got BS'd. I was just thinking, the 4 forward facing lights if prolly headlights, foglights, aux light, that kind of thing.

Yep, same experience here, was under the impression that marker lights/cab lights had to be orange, so I put some orange bulbs from Autozone in them, looks and works awsome.

do not buy from those guys from recon. i order the "line of fire" from them about a year ago. and they took my money. you can go to autozone,o'reilly,superbrightleds.com,or autoanything.com for your light

I've ordered a few things from them with no problems, but either way, I got my line of fire from Summit. The mounting brackets have screws on them so you can remove the lights to access the spare tire winch. Pretty good idea IMO.

The recons leak, not a good job on engineering, they are also cracking, I may put the stock one's back on and use that VHT paint that goes black without the lights on.

White bulbs used with white lense are illegal.

Amber must be used on the front and sides of a vehicle and Red on the

back of the vehicle. :-{}

With the exception of the head lights and running lights.

I know because I got a ticket in California for running colored lights on a

semi.

I'm going to have to bust out some of my lights on 3 of my cars to comply with your silly law. Maybe we can get a class action law suit going against the automakers for building illegal vechicles. Headlights, separate highbeam and fog = 6 forward facing lights, where do these guys come up with this stuff.
