Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 02 Ho 0216 code,. 1693 also help?

I have these two codes coming up and not sure how to fix? I take the smarty and clear the codes and they come back right away. I thought it was caused by higher levels on smarty,but even in stock mode it starts missing at about 2000 rpm. What do i have to do to fix promblem? Thanks,Chris

I, and a couple of others had similar problems after installing Smarty software - it's NOT a Smarty issue, but an already weak and failing VP-44 that can't handle the extra demands the Smarty places upon it. Sure, you CAN just unload the Smarty programming, but the VP-44 weakness and imminent failure IS still there, just waiting to bite you.



Sorry for the bad news, but a new VP-44 is probably on your horizon... :{

The sad thing about it all is i kept fuel pressure good,relocated pump by tank,and have this happen . Would you guys suggest hot rod vp?

You can lose a vp44 anytime... . without reason. I have one of II reman vp44's..... It has been great. If you don't tow I'd say go for it..... get a HRVP44.

Sorry to hear that. I just got those codes the other day, and I'm now shopping for a VP44.
