I need to throw some slicks on my 2wd 2500. Will 16'' wheels fit the back of it? I just wanted to know for sure before I ordered a set. Thanks,

Brad

I am pretty sure you need 17" whees to fit over the brake rotor and caliper. Don't know for sure, but I have never heard of anything under 17" wheels on a 3rd gen.

be careful with some aftermarket 17's though. I know of one member that ordered a set of Centerlines that wouldn't clear the calipers. Though a different model from centerline did clear... Just a heads up

I am not sure if they didn't fit becaue it wasn't really a 17" wheel, but rather, they didn't fit because the backspace offset combo was wrong.

I ended up ordering a set of 18x10 MB Blitz wheels with a 29x12x18 nitto drag radials. It has 20'' MB Blitz wheels now, so it will match. Also ordered the caltracs yesterday. I hope it hooks. I know the tire is short, though my 3. 42's are supposed to be delivered around May 2nd. We'll see. .

No, 16" off my '98 would not fit the rear of my '06.

I was just in Les Schwab and they confirmed that the 16" wheels on my 98. 5 will not fit on the newer trucks with 17" wheels. Sure glad I just bought those 255/85's in December and had them studded and they wont fit the new truck  I wont even have them paid for yet and I will need a set for the new truck this winter.
