So I just noitced today that my overhead outside temp thermometer is stuck on 56*F. I know for sure it was not 56*F outside today as it has been in the high 70s and low 80s the past couple days, so something is obviously wrong with it. Anyone else had this issue with their '06?? The compass is working fine but can't figure out what could be the culprit on the thermometer. Only 10500 miles on the 'ol ticker just for an FYI. :)

Thanks for the help, Joe

My 06 used to be SLOW in changing. . Like you would have to drive 20 miles and all of a sudden it would move to an accurate temp... My dome lights were also going off very quickly and was told to just disconnect the Neg battery cables for 15 minutes and it fixed the dome light and the overhead! Must have reset the darn thing!

I had the initial problem with my dome light when I first picked up the truck from the dealer. Then the dome light finally quit working. I tried the battery disconnection at first but It didn't work... . Finally, I took it to the dealer in North Carolina a couple of weeks ago. The dealer kept the truck for almost 11 days counting weekends to order and replace the instrument cluster and harness assembly. The service adviser said, he had a few of these truck that came in with the same problem. The new instrument cluster has to be re-programmed for current mileage. Technician diagnosed and found DTC, B161B in cluster. Dome/courtesy lamp circuit low. Caused by faulty instrument cluster causing dome light to be inoperable. I suggest to take your truck to a "reputable " dealer before your warranty runs out. The extent of the repair is time consuming. The tech. has to remove my roof liner and basically tore down the panel to access the inst. cluster. It wasn't a pretty site seing your $45K truck torn apart like that... . I was surprised that after the repair the tech actually did an outstanding job, no rattles or squeeks, I also had them inable my high idle and DRL feature.

I saw a TSB on a site about both the dome light was either fast or slow going off (forget which one) and the temp display was stuck. I saw it on alldata or some place like that.

Thanks guys, don't have to worry about my warranty running out anytime soon..... got the 5yr/100K so good there.

Haven't had any dome light issues but after work today on the drive home the thermometer seemed to be working again but VERY slow to react. During lunch it was stuck on 56* and after work, it said 82* then started to move a bit and be somewhat accurate. I got a reflash @ 1820 miles when the typical P0514 Battery Temp CEL came on and it seemed to fix a lot of things.

Bob, do you believe I should get the ECM reflashed again??

Thanks, Joe

mine is stuck on 130*!

the compass works, though

maybe I will try disconnecting the batteries to see what it does

I sure did like it when it worked, though

The concern you should report is o/head compass sticks on -40 at times. The tsb# is 08 26 06. Itis a flash for the CCN. Only takes a few minutes

Bob
