So heres my deal... .

I have a SPS6280 (62/14) and my stock turbo... ... ...

I've been looking at the Artic Air twin set up from Relentless... . uses a stock turbo and K31.

Also took a look at Idaho Twins as well... . stock turbo and a B2.

Chris at Relentless didn't like the idea of me trying to use my SPS in place of the K31 with his kit... .

I'd like to chat with the guy building Idaho twins to get his thoughts.....

Would a stock turbo and a sps6280 make a good pair? why or why not?

I don't have the time or knowledge to fab up the kit myself... any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im guessing the SPS is kinda small. Just my guess

I've had the same thought. But how small is too small?

I know the industrial injection towing twins are a sps62 and a k31..... but the price for the rest of the kit from Industrial is a bit pricey!!!!!!

I dont think you would see much benefit, the 62/14 already spools like lightening. And I thought the idea of twins was the little turbo helped spool before big ol turbo comes around...

I say do a 62/14 - B2

Nathan (IdahoCTD) builds his own kits depending on application.

for $ purposes i went with his kit with the stock turbo on top until $ allowed and then i went with a 62/12.

I have a K31 on the bottom and a 62/14 and the difference between the size of those two turbos is unbelievable. I think that you would be better off just running the 62/14 by itself, because it is already a pretty fast spooling turbo. And running the stocker in front of a 62/14 isn't going to give you anymore egt cooling than just running the 62/14 alone.

Just my thoughts,

Using the SPS6280 as the big charger is not a good idea. The K31 charger we use in our kit is the large charger and is used in it's original form with the waste gated housing and the 5" outlet. It is important to control both the small and large turbochargers. The K31 and the SPS6280 allows you to do this as they are both waste gated. The K31 has a smaller rotating MASS and therefore will spool quicker than the BHT3B. Air flow for the K31 (compressor maps etc. ) is as good and probably better than most BHT3B turbos. Our cost for a BHT3B turbo is much lower than a K31 which would help in pricing. We call this pairing of turbos (K31 & SPS6280) our towing twins. But in fact they offer enough air to make some very impressive HP. Thanks

had a change of plans..... had a deal pop up that I couldn't pass up. PDR towing twins for $2100 shipped to my door.

I saw them too, but you beat me too it. . :D . . I searched and he never really ran them he just put them on a month ago according to his post... . I was just wondering if those tow twins would be enough for my rig though??? the say up to 550... I'm hoping to break 600 when I get my other stuff installed... Good luck with your steal of a deal... Let us know how they work for ya. . Wes
