I've been researching stacking a Smarty with my Drag Comp but there seems to be several different opinions on HP#'s when stacking them. Here's a few questions I have:

1. Is the Smarty/TST really that much better than the Smarty/Drag Comp? Does anyone have any numbers?

2. Who has tested their truck with Drag Comp Vs. Smarty/Drag Comp on the Dyno? Some say I will lose HP when stacked and some say I will gain HP?

3. If I did stack Smarty/Drag Comp is it really better to run 5X4 on the Comp?

4. With my Drag Comp alone, what's better? 5X4 or 5X5? Why?

Thanks

I would run a Juice w/Attitude instead of the Drag Comp. You can get an unlock code to open up a sixth setting on the Juice, which I think is almost identical to the Comp in numbers.

1. Guys who have dynoed both combos have claimed a 20hp increase using Smarty/TST over Smarty/Edge. They have also said that the Edge power came in smoother for street driving.

2. I can't remember who posted this, but someone claimed that they gained hp with the Smarty stacked with Edge Drag by running sw9, 5x4. I believe it was a 10-15hp gain.

3&4. Not sure why, but 5x4 does give higher numbers than 5x5... . like 3-7hp higher.

Hmmm... ... .

I KNOW I've read on here that Smarty causes a HP LOSS when stacked compared to the Comp alone. Anyone want to refute that and make me wonder about my memory? :-laf

A comp does timing also so that stack cannot utilize the dynamic timing available in the smarty. That is probably why the stack looses peak HP. THe low end is greatly increased at the same time. Most users with that stack much prefer the smarty even softwares even though they lower peak HP.

it has also been said that excessive timing is hard on head gaskets, also is a reliability issue w comp so ive heard...
