Hi, guys

Has anyone experienced an unusually rough jaring ride in thier truck? I hae an 03 2500 QC SB that seems to ride worse then i think it should. The truck has 73000 on it and all original suspention, including shocks. On smooth roads its fine (it should be) but hitting any type of small bump, all the way down to expantion joints on a concrete bridge, casue the rear of the truck to shudder and jump around like it has overly stiff springs. Im thinking new shocks would help, because my old 200 f-350 reg cab road alot better then my dodge does and it had bilstiens. Although i did take off one of the rear shocks and it still seems to have decent dampening force for 73000 miles one it as i compared it to the bilstiens i have from my ford and them seemed very simmilar, though i realize that only a shock dyno can really tell if a shock is comparable to another. any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks Steve D

stock skocks are done at 50k - Any new shock will be a great improvment.

I like my bilstiens. .

New shox will defiently help you out and you might lower tire pressure. That big chunk of steel on the bottom of the spring pack will cause that jaring and roughness. It is amazing the ride by removing that chunk of steel and replacing it with a mini pak will do for you.

Tire pressure and if you get new shocks I would get Bilstien shocks I put them on my suburban and expedition and the ride quality was day and night

so what is your view? that stockers are holding up to the abuse past the 50k mark?

When I took mine off at 40k, they were already weak - The addition of the bilstiens helped a ton on the expansion joints

I thought we were talking stock shocks? Bilstiens may help, but I don't think the stockers are wasted @ 50K.

Bilstiens are non existant for a dually and I replaced my stockers with new stockers somewhere between 150,000 and 200,000 and couldn't tell a lick of difference in the wat they felt or rode.
