Already ordered an exhaust, AFE, and Smarty, any other suggestions besides gauges?

Don't know much about common rails, but just curious about any problems I can prevent like 12V KDPs, 24V lift pumps, what level or mods it takes to destroy a 48RE, etc, etc.

I would say the lift pumps on these common rails are marginally better than the older trucks but thats up for argument.

With any mods, yeah you'll run it dry eventually.

the new ones have the intank lift pump. works good stock. . once bombing starts, it will be a good idea to upgrade
[my walbro has been on my desk for over a year now:rolleyes:]

Does the lift pump pressure need to be monitored on these too? Does it wreck the CP3 when they run low on pressure, or does it just lose power? Just trying to learn...

Is that the one from your Dealer/friend for $34K?

Yup. Decided it was a fair deal. He got me 5. 9 APR for 5 yrs which made it more workable, and I looked every place I could think of to find 06/07 trucks with similar or no miles, and his was the best deal, new or used.

In my search I did discover that rebates and incentives vary from state to state and month to month. Maybe it's not the greatest deal of all time, but it was a win-win deal for both of us, and I needed to do something soon, since my '01 will need doors and paint if I keep it much longer (selling it this month), plus some other things, and I just didn't want to invest $3-5K in a 300,000 mile truck.
