After only 68000 miles, my ball joints are going out already. I am just looking for recomendations on what brand, or where to find GOOD ones. I deffinately want greasable, since Chrysler is too stupid to put them on in the begining. I would like to get MOOG, but any input would be helpful. Thanks!

I bought the Moog's. I don't think its possible to get a greasable, non-adjustable joint, so you'll have to deal with the hassle of adjusting them.

My 94 needed them at 90k. A shop that works on frame and axles. said life on those run about 50k. Bottom ball you could grease. top was not. Idler arm, u-joints front axle. 4 ball joints for $825.

Well, I managed to get my hands on some Dana ball joints, all greasable, thank god. Then I went to put in the left drive shaft, and found out my U joint is out. Naturally I have to take the WHOLE truck in to get it under warranty, so I guess I'll eat the 70 bucks and do it myself. Oh well, at least they did the right side u joint and wheel hub for me this past fall. Thanks for the information everyone!

Dana Ball Joints...

Ryan,

I just found out that Napa makes the DANA ball joints, and the ones I bought for my truck (upper) are greasable, and non-adjustable. $80. 00 ea with business discount.

I didnt know NAPA made anything? Their joints are probably TRW.

Nope, I got them at NAPA, all 4 are greasable, and they told me they were made by Dana/Spicer. Mine for all 4 with my discount $401. At least the good ones are Dana, they may sell lesser quality ones, I'm not sure. They are non adjustable though, but then they are 0's from the factory, and since they werent off before, why change? but they did tell me they can get adjustable's.

NAPA's premium chasis and steering parts (blue box) are produced by dana... ... they are among the best product on the market.....

I just had Moogs installed last week. Uppers K7748, Lowers K7467. Alignment must not be quite right. Truck nopw pulls to the left rather than to the right. Dealer said they'd take care of it. They had never seend adjustable ball joints before so I imagine it'll take a couple tries to get it right. No biggie.

catman I am doing BJs on my '98 2wd, there is a tool you can get from Harbor Freight Tools, roughly $40. I wouldn't to it without it. There's a picture of it down the page here--> Rebuilding the Front Suspension

Also get you some kind of tie rod puller, it'll help get the spindle off the ball studs.

I bought a set of Dana/Spicer ball joints from Napa and they look like quality parts, hoping to have it all together tomorrow. Got 159,000 out of the originals but the one on the driver side has been making noise since I bought the truck at 137,000.
