:-laf Updated my numbers a little more this weekend at the local event. I wanted to try the "hot tune" for the Smarty, but obviously was not "special" enough to get it. So, I ended up with my ole faithful set up with the SP pressure box stacked with the standard smarty.

See Bob, nobody would have benefited from this, but you all... . tis a shame you all were scared of reverse engineering

there is no doubt Lloyd truck was at the top of its game on sat and sun. i was in the dyno room when he made these numbers and wow that was a shock to see on fuel only. with just two boxes. ill tell you what that little dyno room lit up when we saw the numbers though. and again congrats Lloyd. but im catching up though. (very slowly):-laf

That there is funny. Maybe you should poll the TDR guys here and ask them how many actually think I would give your hot tune to VA to "reverse engineer".

What's even more ridiculous is thinking that VA would try to get it or even want it for that reason. Downloader vs plug in box. Totally different concept - totally different function. Besides - if VA had any desire to "see what's inside" a Smarty, I would buy one. VA has been on the other end of reverse engineering way too many times since releasing the first 24V module back in '98, to ever consider doing it to someone else.

Lloyd - We had a great time & really enjoyed meeting you, Kai, Angelo, C. J. and all the other guys. Thanks for inviting us & don't you worry, we will get that little bug worked out of the tune & help you bump those numbers up a few more. :)

Congrats again Lloyd, good seeing you again this weekend. .

Don, thanks again for coming out and bringing Pete with you. It was great to finally put a face to the voice I've talked to on the phone so much. You guys are a class act and I'm sure I can speak for all that were there, we are definately looking forward to you guys coming back for FALL BRAWL.

haha, you know sometime on sat i heard the most likely cause "there was a loose nut behind the wheel, and for that matter under the hood"

i too found what has been causing my truck to not run as hard as it did early last week. i have a hole in my pass side intercooler boot, when i found it (last night) it is now 1. 5 inches long and now barely makes any boost.

congrads lloyd, you worked hard for it and did it with your own 2 hands, not buying someones else parts and having someone else install them.

Don, It's was great getting to meet you also! And as always Pete was on top of his game. I will be in touch tomorrow to chat with you about a few things.

I just also wanted to say "thanks" for the help along the way. I had more parts flying around the past 3 weeks than imaginable. Thanks to Jim, Josh( Bandit) and CJ (Rattkebox) for helping me get thru it. Also to Everett and Dave at High tech Turbo for supplying me with a killer set of chargers fof the new twin set up. Without a doubt I will have enough air for quite some time. :D The new twins are big :--) but still light as fast as my 40/3B set. And the top end power is unbelievable. :D

Amazing numbers. What is it like to drive a truck with that much power and a manual trans? How is traction? Like if you floor it in 3rd gear (including granny) what the heck happens?

Thanx.

hmmm, well..... the tires break loose in any gear up thru 4th and sometimes 5th LOL. :-laf Actually, most people can not believe it, but I and a few others daily drive on our most agressive settings. If the trucks is tuned properly, drivability is not a problem. I have a couple contracts for snow removal in residential developents and I also tow with this truck while logging about 35,000 miles year. Drivability and reliability has never been much of an issue.

Hmm I believe the following may happen assuming 2WD:

Granny/1st. Quick rev WAY past the redline, good dose of smoke.

2nd. quick rev way past the redline, tire noise and really good dose of tire and diesel smoke.

3rd, Massive amounts of black smoke, tire white smoke, turn the wheel to the right or left to compensate for the random reaction the truck is taking based on the current state of the pavement. Ride ends short as the truck is redlining.

Standing 4th: See 3rd gear add in more tire smoke. Hand on to something.

Rolling 4th: Depending on tire quality, a bit of tire noise, massive amounts of soot, Hang on and sorry for the whip lash. Be prepared for some drifting if driver is skilled enough ;-)

Rolling 5th and 6th. Shutup! Hang on! The blur and the roller coaster feeling is normal.

In 4x4 I'm sure it's just whip lash and go :)

that is a very good explanation. LOL :D :-laf
