Ac clutch cycling

When I have the ac on and the blower fan on anything but max high the ac clutch cycles on off.

Is this working correctly?

When you first turn on the AC it should cycle more frequently until the system gets pressured up and cab cooled down. I " THought " I had a problem with my 06 when it was new. Was cycleing a lot and I got a " Humming" sound in the cab and from the Condensor in the front. Dealer added freon ( Was low from the factory)... I notice mine will cycle more until it gets cooled off or if it is excessively hot outside. .

A cycling AC compressor is normal - that's why they have a clutch.

If it cycles excessively and doesn't produce cool air, then there's probably a charge problem.

What year truck is it? there was a TSB for excessive cycling.

TSB 18-003-04 this is a software update, I did it on an 03 CA truck and it fixed my trouble.
