Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Tst Pm3

I'm still trying to decide between this and an edge Juice/Attitude. I've had personal experience with another 24v with the edge module and really liked it, but a lot of guys on here seem to rave about the TST also, especially when used along with a Smarty which I plan on getting in the future. My understanding is that the tst only adjusts fueling and not timing as well, like the edge does? And does the TST offer sublevels like the edge does?

I have that combo and LOVE it!! adds top /bottom end and timing! but no built in guages (they are available) . no reliability problems either!

Quadzilla is gonna release a race box for the 2nd gens soon... . being beta tested as we speak & guys are saying that it is as strong as or stronger than the TST/Smarty combined. I am beta testing a 70hp tow box for them right now & it feels the same as Smarty, but has adjustment on the fly stock, 35hp, 70hp... . I really like this box. You may want to wait a little longer.

I tried the juice with smarty and now a TST with other timing boxes for the most top end power a single fueling box is hard to beat now for grocery getter days stacking is fine,,, just cause it feels like a added 100 hp doesnt mean it

cummins724, will that new quadzilla race box have a monitor with built in gauges or will I have to get a set of gauges? That was one of the things making me look at the juice w/att. RCenters, your saying you tryed the TST/Smarty combo and liked it better than the edge?

It will be available with monitor.

The Race box will have a monitor but, the base box comes with EGT, Boost, Transmission/Oil and Fuel Pressure Gauges. They are just not quite as fancy as with the Monitor and the Monitor allows you to set a bunch of de-fueling parameters, shows more things and allows you to set a Turbo Timer.

Will the Quadzilla box reprogram the ECM like Smarty?



I couldn't be happier with my PM3/Smarty stack. Smarty for low end, PM3 for high end. I can't even do 9x9 because of EGT's... new turbo first.

No reprogramming. All plug and play. All adjustable on the fly from stock to timing only to a whole lotta fuel!

That's really interesting. I thought part of the reason all of the pre-ECM boxes were limited was because they were not reprogramming and that there was only so much you could do by just modifying input signals to the ECM.



I will be excited to see how it is received by the members! Quite well, probably.

The programmers are limited to the same issues as the timing type boxes out there. The VP44 has an internal lockoff so you can only fuel so much.



Our newer XZT timing box still has these limits but, by using some newer, faster, more powerful components we are able to fuel sooner and harder much earlier than other plug in boxes.



On the Race module we are also tapping the pump wire to gain the extra power.

Neither the new XZT or the race box have been released yet. I just recieved my beta box yesterday & another guy just recieved the race box for testing Tuesday. After Quad gets the bugs worked out... . you are gonna see a whole new level of 2nd gen performance. Quad still hasn't set a release date for either box, but when he gets them done... . you are gonna see alot of ads in the classifieds for our old boxes.

The XZT will probably be out towards the end of the month or the first of July.



It will be advertised as a 0-35-65hp box. There is some other cool features as well. It was designed to be cost effective, simple to install and give the same performance as a Smarty. It is better than the current timing boxes out there but, the Smarty seems to be the king at those power levels. This box is adjustable on the Fly though.



The Race box will be out when we have all the details polished up.



HP numbers will be subjective like anything else. Depending on what pump, injectors, transmission, fuel sytem, turbo, etc.



I have seen it make 139rwhp on a stock truck about 1 week ago. I have seen it make about 180rwhp on a modified truck.



In reality you can do the testing to make the gains whatever you want them to be. We will most likely be conservative and call it a 130-140hp box. It has a huge power band on it and a lot of standard features without having to step up to the bigger monitors.

Ballpark, base model pricing similar to a Edge Comp. With a Commander less than a Juice/Att combo.

Just got my truck running with new Suncoast transmission, 100hp jammer 3 tips, tst PM3 and stacked with a superchip... This thing runs like a raped ape!!

Stalling the converter a little at a light and then mashing will spin the 285 mud terrains about 100ft. I rode in a truck with the comp and it wasn't too inpressive. Also the pm3 was super easy to install, it maybe took me 30 min. Must get aux pusher pump though, i can suck it down to 3psi with a stock lift pump.

i wouldnt be impress with just the comp if i had injectors, stacked box and programer, and a race transmission either.

that race box sounds interesting. might have to try it and compare to my comp.

The guy had the same trany as i with a single disc converter. I dont know if he tapped the wire though and i dont think he really beat on it, but it still didn't really feel like the truck did anything different than my stock truck with a super chip. His truck is for towing though, not really set up for beatings.
