Smarty questions

Just order a Smarty for my 04. 5 truck. Truck is stock except for straight pipe and AFE intake. I also did the tone ring mod.



My questions

Will it be OK to run the smarty settings with added timing with the tone ring mod?



I am getting ready to go on a long trip. What setting is getting you all the best MPG. Truck will be empty or mabey towing 2 jetskis not alot of wieght.



Last where are you guy downloading the new software for the smarty at? I looked and could not find it.

i run my smarty with the timing settings and i have the tone ring mod done.

ok remember there are no stupid questions only stupid people asking questions, so what is the tone ring modification? Dont mean to change the subject though. :-laf

If you do a search of here you will find instructions on how to do it. It is very easy. Takes me about 15min on a rack. The only thing you gain is about a 1/2 mpg.

no problem at all. The tone ring mod adds less than 2 degrees of timing.



not an issue at all. Remember smartys timing is dynamic not static

Thanks for the reply. The smarty is very impressive. The only problem I have with it is the excessive smoke. It is bad even on SW 1. I tried it on my buddys 06 with a factory exhaust and is alot better. Does the cat have something to do with it?

you need to try our new towing software. the smoke is gone and the egt's are reduced even more

Nope - my kitty just ran away, and I can verify that there is in fact NO BURNING KITTY hidden in the exhaust system.

Also I would be interested in the towing downloads for the Smarty.

Bob, I cannot find the towing software you are talking about. Is there another site I don't know about? I downloaded the moderate tq man program and on SW 5 the smoke is not as bad. It will slip my clutch a little though.
