Competition Sled pulling EGTs

Just curious what you guys are seeing for EGTs pulling the sled. I just want to see how my temps compare to others with a Street class 12v.

I am seeing way over 1600* since that is where the gauge pegs at and I think I am actually running anywhere from 1900*-2200* by the end of the pull by the needle pretty much facing straight down.

Those temps are seen with 370 injectors, 100 plate, 19. 5* timing and stock 181 DVs being pushed through an S400.

Autometer makes a 2000DEgree Pyro, why doesn't anyone run this gauge?

Stewart Warner has a 2200deg pyro. Friends truck used to peg that before the sled started to move without any bad results.

I dont think I have EVER seen anyone running a 2000 pyro, hmm, wonder why?

Because aparently the people you know don't want to know how high the EGT's are actually getting, they'd rather keep the 1600 and believe it stops there. Not that 2200deg is good but at least it's honest.

When I used to watch my egt gauge pulling back in the 450hp days I would usually start out around 1200 then about half way down the track it was around 1500... by the end it was 1650...



Dont know about now... I suspect its around the same or less... but I dont know for sure.

Make sure it is pre-turbo, so ya get an accurate reading:-laf
