What is the best turbo to run on an 06' in the 550-600hp range? In the process of building a truck like this and I have been convinced that I don't need twins for this. So let's hear it!

my suggestion would be a sps 62 from II.

most of the guys in that hp range really like themOo.

Since you asked, another alternative I would strongly recommend would be HTT's newest version in stainless steel 64/13mm. This will provide you the air, spool-up and lower egt's you will experience at those HP ranges.

How about lag and fuel mileage? Also, would I be better off with twins?

PBax on here went from a SPS62 to Peirs towing twins. PM him, he will let you know how he liked the switch. He made 579hp with the SPS62 @ like 1300 degrees, and right now the twins are cooling just 50 degrees cooler than the SPS... .

I just purchased the SPS62/14 for my truck. Running Smarty on 3 with moderate tq managment. Very driveable with no issues. Turbo spools a little slow but will be taken care of as soon as the Smarty can be cranked up.

579@1300 degrees is good for the dyno but will be allot higher than that running that much power on the street.

I would recommend a Silver Bullet 66 for that kind of power and it should work fine with your 89 converter, I run a 91 with mine. I'm at 600 as a guess now, call it 650 with Water/Meth.

If you guys will remember from last year, I had said that my EGT's only went up 100-125 degrees when I dropped the Big Brother off my combo! Power went down about 75 hp!

Nothing new changing over to the 35/3B combo, like I said I'd bet that a Silver Bullet would do everything they will, or dang close to it!

So you are saying your EGTS went up and you lost 75hp when you dropped the twins and went with a single? If that is the case, why not stay with twins?

What are you going to be doing with the truck? Daily driver, drag racing, sled pulling, towing?

I don't think it is fair to compare Silver bullet turbos to 35/3b twin setups. Of all the setups I have tried the 35/3b setup was near the bottom of the pile. Towing is fine, but they choked on top. By around 2800 rpm they were done.

If your ever up this way I have an HTT 64/16 over k31 setup on my truck. It pulls better on top with the 16, better daily driver tow rig with a 13. Runs cool and does very well up in the hills. Mileage is excellent.

I just installed the new HTT Stainless steel 71 series 66/16. I'm making about 560 hp and 1060 tq with room to grow. I was running a HTB2 64/12 and I really don't see much of spool up difference. The 66 spools at about 1800rpm and pulls hard all the way up to 3500rpm making 55 pounds of boost.
