uhhhhh.....yea.....

Help - Just busted my mirror.

Yeah, how about that? I was watching the TV and all i seen was this big rig driving down the highway, and above it had the text "Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel" and all of a sudden the screen goes from like a moggy, polluted color to a clearer color, and it shows these little kids smiling and laughing and being happy, because, obviously they can tell they are living in a less polluted world now

The propaganda this country hands out really scares me sometimes.

I felt the Company's ad was misleading.

This is due to how the ad stated we have changed our formula to ULSD to save the environment. In reality they were ordered too by the EPA.

Propoganda, Yes! But it's Propaganda aimed at making us consumers feel better about big oil.

You think Big oil wanted to change to that new formula? I doubt it.

Personally, I think these kind of ads are GREAT. It gives a "brighter" image to diesel fuel as a TRUE alternative fuel for the future. Maybe once the "diesel is nasty" theory is past, we will begin to get more diesel vehicle choices like Europe.

Propaganda is correct. The vast majority of the people in the US are idiots and will believe anything. They are easly manipulated.

If every SUV was a tri-axle Pete with Cat C15's in the US, the air would be just fine. One valcano or major forest fire puts out more "polutants" than anything man puts out and the atmosphere cleans it up ... the earth has been doing it for 5 billion years ya know.

The arrogance of man thinking we can "destroy" the earth is a laugh.

Remember, all this "green" crap has nothing to do with "cleaning up the environment" and everything to do with controling people and destroying our freedom ... period.

one of my favorite things to tell someone whos spouting global warming crap at me is (besides forest fires and volcanoes), if we are doing so much damage why are most of the daily high temp records on the weather channel almost 100 years old, i wake up to the weather channel and i have been looking at that stuff for years and theres a lot of records in the 1890s, id say the best part of the records are from the 50s and older

That did not occur to me. Very good point! :)

ABSOLUTELY!

Is the climate changing? You bet - just as it has for many millenia!

Is mankind responsible - or able to make significant impact to increase or reduce it? PRECIOUS LITTLE!

Just another political power grabbing, money making scheme - all based upon POWER - us losing it, others gaining it...:mad:

Though, playing the devils advocate here, The more diesel vehicles there are the more lucrative diesel fuel becomes. Big oil sees more vehicles so they raise the price to make more profit. Some will say that more vehicles the more profit at the same price, but we all know that, as greedy as big oil is, they won't be happy with the same profit multiplied times more cars, they will raise the price 'cause more people need it. Therefore multiplying there profit even further. Back before diesel pickups were the thing to have(2002ish and earlier) diesel was significantly cheaper than gas. Now that it seems everyone has a Cummins, PS or Duramax, diesel is equal too or MORE expensive than GAS! Funny how when it was mainly just truckers running on diesel it was kept at least 50 cents a gallon cheaper than gas... . now there is a fuel surcharge on everything! Its the gov't fault that the prices are going up too, when I was in Qatar fuel was less than 50 cents a liter! I know there are less shipping costs, etc, but the US gov't doesn't have its grubby fingers involved over there..... coincidence?

FATCAT, if you really think we are not contributing to the problem then you need to wake up!!! We are not destroying the Earth, just speeding up climatic shifts. I don't buy all the Government propoganda, but the facts are there for anyone to see! We continue to pump more co2 and co into the air while also clearing land to make room for "progress", reducing the vegetation necessary for the natural carbon cycle to take place. This is not a natural occurence, nature never clear-cut thousands of acres a day, man is responsible for this, and man will pay the ultimate price if something is not done to clean up our mess!

WDixon, the problem is not record temperatures, it is a rise in average temperatures. This is a very real problem, already causing major issues such as coral reefs dying off around the world due to increased ocean temperature. The reefs are some of the most biologically diverse places in the ocean, vital to the survival of numerous species! If the coral reefs die across the globe, the marine ecosystem will suffer irreparable harm triggering the extinction of countless other species!

I am not a tree hugger, but I am saddened that there are people who think we can do whatever we want and nature will take care of it. We have a very real impact on our environment and need to act at least somewhat responsibly or our children will be the ones paying the price.

And I am saddened that under the pressure and influence of an out of control Liberal media with an agenda, that many blindly accept that the mere passage of a few trivial laws, and enactment of new taxation to pay for their effects, we can somehow greatly impact a natural phenomena that was set in motion at the creation of this earth - and has been causing SERIOUS climate changes LONG before we had industry, SUV's or other man-made nasties to blame them on, or make them happen.

The USA has been the greatest country in the world - and the absolute envy of all the others - but many in foreign lands, as well as our own, continually work at attempting to slip a gigantic guilt-trip upon us - to make us in this great land ASHAMED of our existence - and to make/force us PAY for the fact we do exist, even though many of those countries are very dependent upon us for what they live on and consume!

Pretty strange that even as some of this nation's critics bellyache about us, they tear down our fences in their efforts to illegally enter the country they so desperately claim to dispise!

When many in foreign countries criticize the USA, thay are often talking with their mouths full of USA produced food - and living on soil fertilized with the blood of USA soldiers who died so they could continue speaking in English and French - or whatever their native tongue, instead of German or Japanese - and the freedom they now use to blast and criticise us in this country was bought and paid for by the blood of USA soldiers who PAID for that freedom with their lives!

If the liberal whiners in those countries want to call me an "ugly American" for my attitude, fine - and while they're at it, they can also kiss my ugly American arse! ;)

I don't buy into that line of class envy crap, and feel sorry for those who do! What we do consume in this country in terms of energy, and then exhaust in by-products, is VASTLY outpaced by what we PROVIDE for our own population and the peoples of other countries in terms of items that feed, clothe and shelter them at a far better level than they would otherwise have access to - and NO, *I* am not ashamed of that fact - or ABOUT to weakly accept any form of political or special interest punishment for it!

We're all being exposed to political and special interest brain washing - and far too many are willingly trailing along like the kids mesmerized and following the Pied Piper of Hamlin... ;)

I am far from a liberal whiner, but I am smart enough to realize that we do have an impact on our environment, and as such it is our responsibility to care for it. I am not arguing for big government or more taxes or penalties, just do what is right, push for alternative fuels such a biodiesel and other biofuels. Try to reduce emissions, help stop the wholesale deforestation going on in many places around the world, conserve resources. We all share this planet, lets make sure it can continue to support us.

Also Gary, don't forget, if it wasn't for the French we would be speaking Mohican.

So, how many people who think man is contributing have ever researched the Ice Age? Considering this planet has gone through 4 of them, (at least), the first one being 2. 3 to 2. 7 billion years ago, I don't really think man is going to change anything, no matter what we do. For what it's worth, we are currently in an Ice Age, which began about 40 million years ago. The glacial period ended about 10000 years ago. We are in an interglacial period.

I went to Wikipedia, and did a search for Ice Age. The info posted above is just the tip of the iceberg. :D

But, you guys with your big honkin injectors are heating up our planet. Hillary would not approve. . #@$%! Not to mention Oprah. . Luckily I'm on a much higher knowledge plane than you all and have decided to take the high road and go back down to RV275's.

"It's for the children". . :p

Yeah I saw that commercial too. I don't think it represented the fuel & enviroment correctly... . BUT

It did get diesel and diesel vehicles into the minds of many people who watched it. It's good and bad advertising.

I agree, and there is a nice Pete in it.
