Off Roading SNAP goes the tow strap... (video)

It was a blue extended cab longbed that has a big edge sticker on the doors and a BD diesel sticker on the bed in front of the back tires I don't remeber a bunch of other stickers but I could be wrong.

with the stage 2 & 3 pumps large lines and tubes are mandatory and big injectors, unless of course you want to spend some money fixing the pump---

sure sounds like the truck wasn't running right, if it was just a haze coming out his stacks----chris

I know exactly who you are talkling about, I am friends with him, blue quad-cab with 8" miters, his name is louis, last pull a week ago he did not have a redline box, it does have a stage 3 but the truck needs some RPM's. Its not setup where it needs to be yet. Travis Kropp can verify, he seen it pull and agreed, needs RPM's.

Travis

You dont necessarily need a redline box to do well pulling with a 24V ISB. .

Buddy of mine runs a Drag Comp and runs with the best of them.....

he does have a blue chip box mounted to his dash, i assumed redline because its the really big box. i talked to him before the pull about the pump very briefly.

and no you dont need a redline box to make 24v run well, i run a smarty/TST comp stack and i put over 15' on the closest dodge. i was very happy with the way my truck ran... and there was NO SMOKE from my truck at all.

Was able to get several things lined up with mine. Nex . 093 lines, billet cross over tubes and bigger injectiors should make for a nice combo. Darren is still runinng a stage 2 last I heard and it's running plenty strong. These pumps are most definitely proven if you have the right supporting mods to go along with them.

I posted that vid and talked to him alot , after the run he said the injectors wasnt wright he was just curiouse to c what it would do

498 was one run on injectors only ,give or take a HP or 2

I'll play devil's advocate here.

This truck obviously had a large single and big injectors, so what is so ground shaking about 5 bills without electronics? That would put this truck at roughly 620ish with the fuel box on(assuming it makes 120 with the bigVP) which is nothing new.

I agree, If your not pushing 6-700 with out boxes (only inj) is it really worth it to get this pump? 8 bills have already been put down with a vp maxed out. I want to see one maxed out to see the numbers it has. I would also like to see one with just a pump addition too see what numbers it has.

I would really like on but with the prices and average hp #'s that have been put out so far. I will still be waiting on this. I do hope to see great #'s so i have an excuse to get one.

Just my . 02

If the engine is not set up to flow a significant amount of air, aren't you just dumping fuel into a cumbustion chamber that can't handle it? 502 hp with a whole boatload of EGTs and backpressure.

The pullers are running Redline boxes set on only 25 to 30% fuel, taking advantage of the box's 4200 rpm limit. Evacuation of the VP's 'resevoir' of fuel through the pumps increased capability would make me wonder if turning up the FASS to, say, 30 psi to recalibrate, wouldn't help?

I also wonder if SMARTY software could calm this thing down, on say, the half power setting? For sreet use? That would be cool, right? Stage 2 on Half Power, at 400 hp to drive around, turn the FASS down to 15 psi, and set it on kill for competition? Full 700 or 800 hp and a full on CaTCHER software with no timing and a Redline box, and the FASS pumped up to 30, 35 psi?

Flame Retardent Boxers in full effect! Lemme have it!:D

I would think that an s400 based charger qualifies as a pretty significant amount of air... ..... Look at the setups of the Dmaxes and 12v trucks in that class.

Yeah, your'e right. I wonder about the cam, headgasket size and if any flow work on the head. But I see what your'e saying. You can get higher numbers than that with a stock VP. The injectors can't be too big because of the lower injection pressure of the VP. Hmmm.
