Why no smoke?

Why is it everyone else with similar mods can produce all the smoke they want and I cannot? Just the EZ alone would make some initially, but nothing more. I would have thought the VA/EZ stack would get me there but it has not. Although I plan on purchasing in the future, I'm currently not running fuel pressure/rail gage and cannot say what the fueling is doing. However, I do know I cannot "chirp" the tires as I did back when I first installed the EZ. Somewhere I've lost power and am curious if it is most likely somewhere between the injection pump and fuel tank or the injectors. Also, I use a fuel additive (Stanadyne, etc. ) every 2 to 3 tankfuls thinking if it was fouled injectors this would correct it. TIA

No one experiencing this or have an opinion? I know there are a number of checks I can make but wanted to some feedback before doing so from others that might have had this same issue. thanks

Pressure is at best going to give you 50hp (especially on an 03)



you need a duration box to get the coals a rolling.

I experienced the same thing in my 03. I had the EZ on alone for a while, and at best could chirp the tires for a little bit. It smoked a bit before I put the boost elbow on. Then after a while, I noticed that I didnt have as much power anymore. I sold the EZ, and put on a Quadzilla Xzillaraider. This provided more power, and some smoke. But again, I'd have to power brake to get the rear tires to roll very well, even on the 100 setting. Same story on my 06 with the Xzillaraider, which I finally got rid of in favor of a Smarty. The Smarty is far and away the most powerful change I've made. And it Smokes..... or at least it did until I got my injectors fixed! I havent tried the higher settings yet, but from what I've heard, smoke wont be an issue.

Jason, I recently installed the VA 3. 2 for increased hp and smoke, just haven't seen any of the black stuff yet. JTheissen, what was found wrong with the injectors before you repaired/replaced? I hate saying this, but I'm thinking I have injector issues. TIA

Get a Smarty. It will Smoke more then you ever thought was possible.

I know the Smarty is a good product but I would not be able to take full advantage of its power until I shuck out the $$$ on a modded transmission. thanks

Very true. I am still running a stock clutch so I dont' go over level 5

You know, they didnt tell me. I have to take it back in next week for them to replace #4 also, so I'll ask then. Judging by how much it cleared up the smoke, I'd say the injector had to be dumping more fuel than it should have been - not just leaking overnight.
