my check engine light came on the other day, so i put the scanner on it it said map sensor voltage was low. what do i need to check and do? i have no clue were to start or anything. Thanks Matt

Well, that's either a bad MAP sensor or a poor connection. The MAP sensor is on the driver's side of the engine towards the back of the block, behind the fuel filter and above the fuel lift pump. There are two sensors back there; one is the IAT (furthest back, just in front of the last freeze plug) and just ahead of that (towards the nose of the truck) is the MAP sensor. Check the connection at the sensor for corrosion, and if it's clean then the sensor itself is probalby bad. Hoesli Diesel usually has pretty good prices for Cummins parts.

I am getting the 237 too, but with the Banks box. I will clean all connections with carb cleaner and then brake cleaner and then a good glop of dielectric grease. If that doesn't fix it, I will send the box back to Banks.

I just pulled the silencer ring off but I forgot to plug in the Air intake sensor. I started the truck, then turned it off after a second to go plug it in, then I had 2 codes one said Map sensor voltage low, the other said voltage high, I reset the codes and they havent come back, check the intake sensor, maybe a bad connection.

I just bought a new MAP sensor from Cummins not Dodge, I think its $50 cheaper through cummins. But I reset the codes and so far no codes. Sensor was $55.
