WoW i have had nothing but problems with my 2006 cummins guys and i sadly drove a 6. 4 stoker yesterday! it seems as tho every 2weeks somthing is wrong with my fuel systems i just had a full set of injectors put in and a lift pump the low pressure pump. and one week later it is alreay actring goofy white smoke at start up! and when the clutch is depressed it idles rough from 600 to 900 rpms then smooths out.

What do i do give up or what guys im about to the limit with this CR crap!

Give Up or just keep getting the hassle of warranty work. by the way Gillette, WY energy dodge is horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they are idiots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i should also add that today i was towing my camper that is just under 15,000lbs i am now getting a fuel delivery error code, is it the triple dog? im not to impressed with my triple dog lately!?!?

comments please guys!!!

What else is done to the truck, fill in your sig. I know what you mean, can't keep a trans in my '03 or find anyone that knows how to work on one!#@$%! Would like to get a new one, but for damn near $60k and have to put up with the dealers BS, I just may go postal next time around! Think I'll try to keep this one going and see what Toyotas entry is going to be in the big truck market next summer.

you try looking into the lemon laws? with out the sig its hard for me to tell if thats possible for you. though with the chip your probably inelegable(sp?)

I recently talked to a TRD crew at a local Tundra exhabition and according to them if you are waitng on the DIESEL fueled truck it will be early 2009. They suggested they have tested a CAT but have a little weight issue on the IFS. If they actually put a CAT in one $60K probably won't come anywhere close to buying that by 2009.

The triple dog may be your problem to start with. I would say you are problably right about the Dodge store and their incompetance because if they just loaded you a full set of injectors under warranty after using the BD then i would tend to agree with your assessment.

You're lucky they covered any engine problems under warranty. I don't think you can blame Cummins when you're using a Triple Dog or any similar product.

You take a gamble using those things.

... They suggested they have tested a CAT but have a little weight issue on the IFS. ...

Gee, ya think?!?!?!

But 69 is correct, you are your own warranty station when you mod. If you can say they cant prove the box caused it, you also cant say for certain it didnt. Its the decision we all make when we bomb.

And... . other brands arent without their faults either. I'm sure you know that already. You odds of having problems with any other brand are just as good as if you were to buy another Dodge.

Toyota is a joke.

After talking with a friend of mine who works at the Princeton, IN plant yesterday, I'd steer clear of Toyotas on principle alone. It's getting to the point where the workers are talking about unionizing (in Japan, all the Toyota blue collar employees are in the JAW Union, BTW). They're not getting the Quality bonuses they used to, and they are talking about a $5/hour pay cut. They're talking about outsourcing some non-production jobs. They've eliminated most of their temps. He told me his next truck would be a Dodge, as long as Cummins was under the hood, and he grew up in Bowties.

Is it more principled to buy a truck made in Mexico?:-laf

Yeah, thats no different than any plant in the US or Mexicana... . They have all either been there, or will be... ... .

Toyota makes a 295HP (220KW) I-6 marine engine, so why would they want the Cat? They also make a V8 diesel I think in Thailand?.

Recently,Nissan & Toyota announced that they would not enter the 2500 market due to fuel costs and start-up costs. The new Toyota's ugly as heck in my opinion, but probably reliable.

I would trade that off for a bone stock cummins and keep it that way...

With mods come wierd quirks, and funny stuff - IMO mostly due to reprogramers

Engine made in Walesboro, IN.

Transmission made in Brazil.

Axles made in US (right?)

Final assy US/Mex/Can

Company once again owned (mostly) by a US firm.

Looks like at least most of the money goes to the US and friendly Western Hemisphere countries.

I had an 03 CR in my truck and had alot of injector problems (4 sets) and did a lift pump replaced with a fass no problems again and an CP3 pump, and various other problems. always fought on warranty but eneded up paying the majority! So i put in a 12v and has been good so far... the price to fix a 12v verses a new CR is alot cheaper in many aspects... lost faith in the new electronic stuff!!!

I agree with Tom. If you want a warranted, dependable truck, buy one that has the capabilities you need, and KEEP IT STOCK.

If you want to play, don't do it with the vehicle you need for work or to get to work. And certainly don't expect the manufacturer to fix problems on your modified truck for free...
