Under hood insulation problem/questions???

BD Diesel Super B "special" Turbo--anyone?

called them today and the rep said maybe mid july

I was told that the little tow box may be relesed in July also, but the race box may be held up until August. Quad will be sending me the final [probably] update soon & I think this little box is ready! I promise you guys who tow that this little box will be worth the money. I am picking out every little minor flaw & bringing them to quads attention. I'm still waiting for the new box to arrive & enjoying every drive until then.

I've got 3 questions on the new and improved quadzilla boxes. does the tow box help the turbo spool up earlier when towing? would stacking it with the new race box be a good fit combo? would the tow box do better on egts than a drag comp when towing?

1. The tow box spools my SS62 instantly from a dead stop. I would compare it to the feel of driving a stock HX35 turbo... . yes that fast!

2. No reason to stack it with anything because the race box is so aggressive in low end/ top end fueling that quad says he had to tame it down because he was running the vp44 out of fuel.

3. I have pulled with both boxes & I can honestly say that the tow box is way more fun to tow with than a Drag Comp. It spools the turbo faster & egts are lower for sure. I can't get the egts above 1100* even wot @ 100+mph. The power isn't jerky throw you back in your seat like the Drag comp. It is smooth clean performance.

I have not read anything more about testing this box on a stock truck except for your first post on the auto truck. Are there any more beta testers running the tow box here?

This box sounds great--not to mention it might actually have a use for it's USB port. ;)

I tried it on a stock truck after quad sent me the updates & the shuddering was gone. The shuddering is 95% gone on my truck also, but quad won't settle for 95%... . he is making this little box perfect & asking me to check & double check every possible aspect. I've picked this box apart & I am really happy with the overall driveability of this box. I still haven't installed my new updated Drag Comp & Smarty is still sleeping if that tells you anything about the driveability of the quad box. Quad is sending me a update soon & I think it will be ready for production.

Have you tried running the new tow box along with the smarty? I bet it would fuel like a *^^$%%$

Of course I have, but only running SW2. It kinda felt like the truck lost power on top end, but it sure would rip on bottom. I like the quad box alot... . can't wait until the race box is released. It is gonna be one bad box for sure. The little box is so smooth it is unreal.

I might have to try one..... I forgot what these would retail for? just for grins could you try running it on the different catchers? 4,6,8 and report back?

I sure can! I will let you know. My truck is in the shop right now where I am installing a 3 turn lock to lock steering box, right tie rod end, right upper ball joint, left hub bearing, new brakes all around & a alignment. I should have it done tomorrow or Thursday & I'll be testing it. My wife is due to pop out our first baby any time now & I may give it a good test because the hospital is 1 hour away! If the time comes before the truck is done... . I have the Jeep Liberty on standby.

Let me start this post by saying that I AM A DAD! My wife had the baby Monday morning @ 8:24am & The little guy is everything a Father could dream of having. When he cries I make sounds like a truck taking off from a stop light & he stops crying to make sure that Daddy didn't miss a gear. Absolutely everything that a father could ask for... healthy & strong. Thank you GOD! Update on the Quad box. I tried the Smarty on sw8 in conjunction with the Quad box & it is almost too aggressive to drive on the street. I had way too much smoke also... . not my favorite setting, but sw4 or sw 2 is by far my favorite settings. I am leaving in the morning for Virginia to attend my sister in laws wedding & taking the Jeep. I will play some more when I return & post results.

Congratulations. May your son be healthy, happy and strong.

Keep the good news coming.

I am waiting for the tow box to come out. I talked to a guy at Quad and he said end of July.

Congrats!!!!!!!! Next thing you know he'll want to drive your truck... ..... they grow up fast. #4 on the smarty is my favorite setting thus far for the street.

Do you think that they will be willing/able to send out demo boxes to try out before we buy them or do they have like a 30 satisfaction thing... ... .

I am the proudest DAD on this earth & enjoying every minute while it lasts. I hope he doesn't grow up too fast! If he does want to drive my truck..... thank GOD for Smarty! The 1/2 power setting will work well to tame the beast unless Marco can make a 1/4 power setting. :-laf

I have no idea how all of that stuff is going to work, but I do know that quad stands behind his products if you have problems. It would be cool if he supplied demo boxes.

When is QZiller going to have something for the new 6. 7L?

I have no idea. I don't work for quad... . just doing a demo on this box for quad.

I have installed Smarty/Drag comp back on my truck last week before I left to see what I was missing. A friend of mine wanted to see how it ran & both of our eyes lit up when I turned the Drag on. I kinda missed the throw me back in my seat feeling of the Drag comp & wanted to have some play time. I will put the quad back on & experiment soon.
