Fuel Filter Change TDR#52

Check this carnage out...

Been on active duty 29 years, and the rules you speak of are minimums, for those who enlist (and get out). Was written most specifically for state and reserve soldiers. Good rules. Not for those held to higher standards. The Regular Army Officers are held to closer scrutiny. As an officer, you are in uniform 24-7.

As an officer, there are many things I keep my nose out of, and keep focused on what is important.

While you quote what you believe to be facts, please be civil and permit those in uniform to exercise good common sense and focus on mission.

When military people begin to get passionately involve in politics in most countries I visit, coups follow. Our country is far from needing a change in leadership such as that. One person - one vote - and the delegate process is working fine. Wayne

Sir,

I won't disagree with your assessment. You're correct, it is different for Guardsmen (like me) and Reserve types. I wear the same ACUs that you wear. Check this picture you should see two CUCVs and a range flag. As for being civil, Sir, it's easy to read into written words and perceive feelings that were not intended. My apologies if offense was taken. I understand well enough the unwritten rules of being an officer, especially one with any rank and seniority. I forget that a significant portion of the members of this board have been around "a minute or two. " I know enough active duty officers to know how busy you guys and gals are.

If any of you reading this think I'm backtracking, well, you'd be half right. :D There are regulations, and there are unwritten rules. You gotta read the fine print; see and avoid the "career killers," like politics in the Army.

Well I guess if its wrong to use WVO like it is to use RED fuel, I guess I'll have to turn myself in for Tax evasion. My crime: I drank UN-ROAD-TAXED gatorade right before I pedaled my ten speed over to the neighbors. AND... ... ... . (I am a really bad boy)... ... . I used my horse after I filled him up on UN-ROAD-TAXED pasture. Darn it!!! Cuff me!! Take me away. BULL SPIT!

Akaiser,

Appreciate the reply. As for the comment of fast pace, I have never worked at the pace I am now working (ever - in my life). Working at warp speed to get new crew protection vehicles vetted and fielded in-country has me on the road every week somewhere different. The top-down political teamwork and cooperation and the fact its getting done is making the world take notice. Despite all the pissy little bickering over small stuff in the USA, its still the desire of the world to be here, to visit, legally or not and despite it all, we still have it better than any other country.

Who is emigrating FROM America?

People vote with their feet - and no one is leaving America.

Personally.

Thanks for what you do and the sacrifices you have made and will make.

Wayne

I won't stand in your way. :D I should be back in the fray this time next year myself. Some of my men know first-hand, way to well, how important that stuff is.

I have absolutely ZERO problem doing my fair share, but I do expect that the government do IT'S JOB and be proper stewards of the taxpayer's money, and properly maintain the roads.

Do folks that drive EV's have to pay some alternative minimum road tax? Is someone driving a high MPG econobox vs say a lower MPG econobox (say like a VW diesel or Hybrid vs. a Cobalt) not paying their fair share, seems like either would have a similar impact on the road surface, but the higher MPG vehicle owner paid less in fuel taxes? And with a Hybrid wouldn't some get more money back in tax credits than what they paid in total fuel costs, thus negating any road taxes paid?

If the government doesn't get enough money from fuel taxes to pay for roads, enough money will come from somewhere. OTOH, I think folks should try to pay their fair share if they know better. With all the advances in powertrain technologies and variety of potential fuel choices the government will be reworking how to reclaim the lost (potentially) revenue, but probably still be behind the curve of folks trying to take matter into their own hands.

I really don't what to think right or wrong, plenty of gray here, about the guy running the untaxed alternative fuel; hopefully though, I can at least contribute to the length of this thread.

I have no problem with people not paying fuel taxes. I CAN NOT buy NON road taxed gasoline for my toys. Boat, snowmachine, ATVs ect. Last time I checked I haven't worn out the snow, sand or the water.

Problem now is that no one is willing to stand up to the gov. Yeah people "protest" (like that does any good). The ONLY thing that works to make change is money. The gov & people are disconnected now. Time for a civil uprising.

You are right! It is all about money. Dyed diesel fuel today is not as much about Low Sulpher Fuel, but it is all about taxes that they now can collect. There used to be alot more off highway diesel being used in on highway vehicles. Now if you don't have the right color diesel fuel you will pay a fine. MORE MONEY. I have talked to some of the refineries in our area and they say it is all Low Sulfer Diesel now. (Or Ultra Low Sulpher) Maybe all we need to know is who sells fuel dye? I heard that it's untouchable. There maybe a law about dying your own fuel? Thanks

Brett, there has always been a huge fine for running dyed diesel, it is for farm and construction use only. In most places it is the same as #2 diesel but has the red dye added, the difference is there are no taxes on it since it is for off road use only. In Texas you have to apply for a state permit to be able to purchase it.

History has a way of repeating itself. As we see politicians from Washington DECEIT trying their best to destroy our country so that communism can take over we can assume it is only a question of time. Right now there are enough brain washed voters and left leaning Media to let it happen. We could have the right people in office but it is going to take a lot of doing. The majority is going to have to start paying attention to our real problems. The war on terror has been a blessing for communist sympathizers. More people die in Washington DC than do our troops in Iraq and Afganistan. We kill on average a hundred a week on our nations highways. Where is our sense of logic. I am a Korean war Vet and I was born in Ohio but raised in the Philippine Islands. I was there when the Japanese invaded. This does not make me more intelligent but I have seen my share or HELL. It comes in many forms. It starts by taking away our belief in GOD then our freedom of speech and raising taxes. The Roman Empire collapsed when taxes got up to 50%. -- email address removed --

What the heck does "GOD" have to do with anything? Not everyone American believes in "GOD" to begin with. In fact "God" has caused more trouble with people then anyone would like to admit...

Your right, it starts with freedom of speech and goes down hill from there.

It just would be nice if more of a "vote" could go out to people to prevent these government workers from wasting our money on a more regular basis.

Weekly pool:
# Joe blow's government workers's next project:
1. Run a study on how the cold temperatures makes you cold
2. Create a bill to prevent smoking in night clubs (well, public buildings... )
3. create useless TV ads about Number 2 ("find another place to work if the air is BLUE!" is all I gota say!)
4. Make fair taxation on fuels

Naturally the #1 would get voted down. #2 has actually happened in Minneapolis, what a WASTE OF TIME. #3 is just proving people are sheep. #4..... well, duuuh this would be helpful.

Some sort of web site should be setup to get a general idea of what projects "really" are important to the advancement of human society.

Now my thread here about the church wasting out brain cells with brain dead pointless propaganda about how to drive: Vatican issues "10 Commandments" for motorists - TDR Roundtable (your church donations hard at work!!!!, essentially a form of tax).

Seat belt laws. Yeah, there was a good waste of resources. If the law makers here think these saved lives? Maybe they shouldn't of been saved if they are stupid enough to not ware a seat belt (or helmet for that matter)

In the end folks, We have it better off and "suck less" then others. Tho shouldn't stop us from some how forming a change. In fact, I think we should have tougher rules an regulations that MAKE YOU ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS!

My neighbor came over my place mid winter, I wasn't to the steps yet to shovel, she's like 70-ish, she SLIPPED AND FELL DOWN (not hurt bad, just a bruise). I helped her up and apologized, She said "no no no, I should of know those steps were there!"

Any other idiot would of claimed against my home owners I"m sure.

Jason, #3 is happening all over the U. S. In Austin you can't smoke within 15' of the door and if the patio is hard covered and has any kind of closable doors (such as glass garage doors) around the perimeter you can't smoke at all on the patio. San Antonio is quickly following suit. And in Mesa, Arizona the only two places you can legally smoke are in your home and car!!!! You can't even smoke in your own backyard!!!!!

J. Burchfield, no one can take away your belief in God, that would amount to brainwashing, or at the very least convincing you not to believe. I also have to agree with Jason here, God should have nothing whatsoever to do with government or laws, it is your own personal belief, of which there are many, Christian and otherwise, plus those who do not believe in any deity. Infact, when religion and government are tied together there have been very bad results. The Inquisition and the Crusades are just a few of many that come to mind.

You should feel free to worship whatever deity you choose without persecution, but don't expect that everyone else is going to follow your same religion. This country was founded on freedom of religion and seperation of church and state. If you expect your beliefs to be included in government and schools, then be prepared to have all beliefs represented and not just your own, that is the only way to be fair.

Let capitalism work here ya know. If the majority of the folks didn't like the smoke, they would go to a place that either has a "smoking room" or the ownership decides them selves on non-smoking.

God has never caused any problems. The greedy people that want control and power are the trouble makers. This great country of ours (greatest on the Planet) was founded by Christians and our Constitution was written by Christians. I thank God for what we have but I see it slipping away if we don't do something. Some of our IDIOT politicians want to enact a Fairness Doctrine. They want to control Talk Shows and limit what they can say and what guest they can have. Next they will want to abolish the First Amendment. This is not just politics as usual, it is using power to gain control without objection to anything they do. If they get away with this then Communism is next. Will be called by another name so that all of us stupid people won't know what is really happening until it is too late. It may already be too late. The next election better be a good one. The over 50% that don't usually vote better start paying attention, get off their rears and vote out the corruption.

JEEZE - and a few of my vocal and obnoxious critics like to B&M about ME "hijacking" threads - wonder where they all are now? :-laf:-laf:-laf

THIS ones been all the way around the barn, SEVERAL times! ;):-laf

Haven't looked too far, but NC requires the fuel tax to be paid ultimately by the final consumer. And requiring someone who uses WVO to post a bond is a stretch of the law.

In WV, the tax is applied to all gasoline and diesel that is to be sold. So it would appear that using WVO in WV is legal.

f we fail to abide in the laws that our representatives enact on our behalf, we make a mockery of our system of government.

Clearly the illegal mexicans have yet to invade your area.

The fed gov watches them break the law, flaunting it right in everyones face, and does nothing.

Why should I have to obey the law when the illegal mexicans are exempt from the laws????????

Screw the fed gov. I have zero respect for them after watching them allow and in fact encourage the mexicans to invade our nation.
