If anyone has information on how I might be able to run a 15 or 16'' rim on an 06 2500 rear please let me know. . I'd like to try to get my 06 to 60' a little better. . Thanks. .

I just measured the calipur to the center of the hub, and it was between 7. 75 and 8''. . That means I would need 16'' inside the wheel to clear. . haha. . You're right. . I guess there's no way. .

I know someone that had custom wheels made for his 03 dually in a 15x14 and they clear the stock brakes. Did the 03's have that much smaller of brakes? If so, could I swap rotors/calipurs made for an 03 for my larger 06's?

Brakes? You don' need no stinkin' brakes! 1/4 mile to speed up, and a 1/4 mile to slow down. Two 'chutes and an exhaust brake should be all you need. And you should be able to turn onto most return roads at 30-40 MPH. :D :D Though I *suppose* drag racing rules require brakes, so you could install a driveshaft-mounted rotor. ;) Or a custom valve body for a variable-pressure trans brake.

OK. Enough levity. Back to the serious discussion.

My 03 has the same size brakes as my 07, I remember that was a selling point in 03, the biggest brakes available, or somethin to that effect. So Im not sure about how that dually has 15s, I would think for sure that a dually would have the biggest brakes available... can you get hold of the guy and ask about it?

I've called him twice and spoke to him. . He told me I'm welcome to come try them out, though that's in Miami. . I've seen them on his truck two years ago. I ended up getting my 16'' wheels to fit. . They were an aluminum wheel I had made for my half ton with lots of backspacing. I swapped the stud guides from one side to the other and mounted the wheel. . They stick out about 10'' from the side of the truck, but they're on there. . haha. . If the rain holds out, I'm either going to cut a good 60' or break the stock output shaft. . I hope it's the good 60'.

Did you just put them on the back or also the fronts, and how much clearance do you have? I have seen even a set of 17s not fit, because obviously the 17" is the outside diameter, not the inside diam. Any pics? Ive never seen 16s on 3rd gens before...
