Competition Little late but SCHEID ROLL CALL!!!

Competition connecting rod question

Nasty Girl put down 1016 hp. on Dunbars dyno this weekend at the Merchant automotive Spring Fling.

It was too bad Maddog could not make it out, that would have been a head to head competition.

Thats good to hear! #2 only correct? When can we see some 1/4 miles out of NG?

Also who were some other heavy hitters? HP #'s?

yep, #2 only and not to make excuses but the torque converter was coming apart before he even made it on the dyno.

We hope to have the trans. fixed in time to make it to the track on Wednesday for test and tune.

As far as other big numbers, Eric Merchants 03 dmax laid down 805 on fuel only with a big single.

I seen the first vid of NG over 1K HP and there was alot of contorversy but if anyone knows Dunbar and his rep these #'s are as solid as they get! Any video of the pull?

what else can this truck do besides de a dyno queen. can it pull?wtf, maddog has thousands of r and d on his own to get that truck where it is today and you durajunk is plug and play for the most part. do not lump him with you guys because he is a true innovator. and besides there is no way a dura junk will ever make the power of the big C and thats a fact

If that "dyno queen" is plug and play, I would love to see a built duramax:-laf

oh crap here we go. Another brand loyal lemming afraid to admit that there is another competitor out there. Not that you care but there is alot of R&D in order to get that kind of power out of D-Max. Not that there wasn't alot of work to get the 5. 9 cummins there but considering how far the D-Max guys have come in such a short time (since 2001). Not to mention all done with aluminum heads that alot of people claimed wouldn't work. It's impressive to say the least. But probably not to someone with your vast HP knowledge.

And no I don't own a D-Max, but I wouldn't be scared to own one. You should open your eyes, it's a big world out here.

Its a big pond out there and its always a fight to see who the big fish is. Look around before you decide. Time will tell.

My Friend you hold Richard Madsen in a very good light. If you only really knew how many people he used, took advantage of, and stepped on to get where he is today. By no means do I consider him an innovator.

Yah 700HP might be easy enough to get "plug and play" nitrous, EFI Live, trans, etc. but, to get over a grand is musch more difficult. Stuff that would work fine at 700rwhp, is useless at 1,000. Just seeing a daily driven vehicle accomplish 1,000+rwhp is amazing.

Wow,if all you need is some boxes and what not, wheres all these 1000 hp trucks at. Being a member of the 1100hp club as I am,its obvious you have no clue about making big power. Maddog's truck is very impressive, but lets face facts that truck has been in a constant power evolution for years and Richard has been a innovator in my book, but its a 12 valve and its been around for along time. The new guys with the commonrails and dmax's have no blueprint to follow,no one to talk to about this part or that part, because its all new and noone really knows how to do it. So for anyone to take new technology and alot of work and make that kind of power is awesome. So I would say "if its that easy to make that kind of power, then lets see you do it"

I saw the video this AM since it was on StreetFire.net - (... always a good source of ricer fun. :) ) I guess I didn't realize that was Dunbar's dyno... or that this was legit.

1000+hp out of anything other than a turbine is very impressive. I too would like to see what the truck will do other than put up good dyno #'s.

We will hopefully have some track times in the next week. There was a few set backs that kept us from going to the track with her yet.

The torque converter came apart and on one of our road tests we picked up a piece of glass in one of the m&h slicks.

Wow - big surprise - a Duramax that had issues keeping coolant where it belongs. :)

All joking aside, it's still completely badarse that anyone's at ~1000hp with a diesel pickup.

Matt
