does anyone know the difference between a 06 and 07 5.9?

I've been trying to figure it out. . I have a new 07 5. 9 made in december 06 and was looking in to programer/ fuel mods to aid in mpg. . it seems the 07s have a different computer? or program?



any help would be appriciated, thanks

Not for sure, but I recall something about a CAN Bus. They did change that in 06, so who knows if there is any difference. You can use a Smarty S06A to program 2003-2007. An S04A will do 03 to 05. 5, so there must be some difference. Mads Electronics - Smarty - Catcher - Products

it does have a CAN-BUS but, so does the 06. They did change something after 6/06 models in the BUS though which makes you have to use programs made for after that date.

I know my truck has an extra cab support bracket that the earlier models didn't. Other than that... they're basically the same truck.

Tail lights & head lights are about only easily recognizeable differences.

For sure they lost the reflective yellow stripe on bottom of headlight.

i have an '07 (made 11/06) and the neighbor has an '06...

the headlights are different, bigger beam, no reflective strip...

tail lights are fugly now. . they now have 1 bulb for the stop/turn signal vs. 2 for the '06

the driver and passenger side front windows are now 1 piece glass instead of the '06s two piece (2 thin pieces with some type of laminate in between)

and im guessing this is the industry standard now, but on the '07s you can just tap the blinker switch and itll automatically blink 3 times. . (ive noticed all DCX vehicles do this now. . as well as most GMs too)

oh and the floor mats just say ram now. .

The manufacture date of mine is 11/06 and it has the 2 laminated pieces of galss on all the door windows.
