OBD II CODE "hr 1652"

After towing up a long grade (I-80 in PA) I noticed that the Check Engine light had come on. When I got to the campground this evening and checked, it was hr 1652. I cannot find this on any of the online OBD databases. Most of them only list P B or U codes. Anyone know what this is, or had it happen to them? I'm sitting in Milton, PA wondering if I should continue my trip back to NH tomorrow. Help if you can.

How did you check the codes? I think you pulled up the truck hours. To check codes from the monitor i beleive you cycle the key 3 times. To check hours you hold the trip in.

Did you use the onboard display to check this, or did you use an external reader?

If it was the onboard that reported the HR code, I have no idea. But if its an external, its possible the reader just translated the code into its own format, which wouldnt suprise me.

Anyways, code P1652 is: J1850 Communication Bus. Which means theres probably a loose wire somewhere in your harness and the PCM/ECM detected a fault in comms. I wouldnt worry too much about it, from the search Ive done, it doesnt affect driveability. Might be worth disassembing some connectors and hitting em with some Radio Shack TV Tuner cleaner/lube. Its always worked great for me on contacts. .

OBD II Code

Well guys, if I had remembered to do the key cycle instead of the button on the trip odometer, I would have gotten the correct code.



What I've got is P0148 with no other code following. As stated, it occured after a long uphill climb on I-80 in PA, and there were no symptoms associated with the code (ie. rough running, loss of power, etc. ) , just normal operation. The reviews for this code are mixed. Some say that it goes away with a filter change, others have had dire circumstances occur; truck dies, CP3 is killed, etc.



I'm here in Milton, PA on my way home from a 5-week trip. The fuel filter was changed just before I left, about 6K miles ago.



Any suggestions would be appreciated.

May not help much, but a P0148 shows to be a "Fuel Delivery Error", "High Pressure Common Rail (HPCR) Check Sum". --Eric
