If you have a 150 Series (Which im guessing you do):

PS-1020 -- about 20-21 PSI

I dont like suggesting cutting the spring... . this creates a big stress point and the spring loads unevenly... . its good for a temp fix... but not for the long term.

THANKS:cool:

wouldnt 6 pyros be cheaper? just an idea... you could wire up a little computer to monitor the mv output, and signal an alarm when one cyl was over a set temp... hmm or wouldnt that help in this situation?

This is your ANSWER !!!!!! Wire up 6 pyros, and if ONE cylinder peaks very quickly (way different from the other) have the system cut power to the cp3 pump. I mean just as soon as one cylinder goes crazy , kill the cp3 instantly.....

This way if the injector is stuck open and you kill the fuel based on egt or " a better method would be to base it on flow per injector. If one injector sticks open, that injector will flow way more than the rest. Have a system that will monitor the flow of fuel to each injector, if one goes wacko, then kill the cp3.

I have to ask... how does an injector that's stuck open melt a piston? It's not like a blow-torch, right? If the injector is dumping large amounts of fuel in the cylinder it seems the fuel would either not burn at all or it would only partially burn. Obviously I'm missing something. Somebody explain it to me.

a flow limiter would stop all flow to any injector if it was more that what the limiter was calibrated for. with aluminum crown pistons, it should be a must in my opinion.

here is a repost of the picture i had linked to on the dtr [i tried the link, only to find if you are a non member there, the picture is not viewable?]

That could be entertaining when passing on a country road. :)

Another issue to look out for when you trash a cylinder is cracking of the cylinder walls. Seen it many times... .

which camshaft would you recomend for a mix of daily, racing, and sledpull, and dyno driving without cutting pistons... ... i was thinking helix 2, i also plan on being able to run 4500rpm with fuel at least to 4000-4300.....

There is no doubt in my mind that nickleinonen has posted the solution to this "curse" of the CR engines, as I feel these injectors will never be as reliable as the pure mechanical injectors of years past. He is an asset to this site. I can only hope that some good vendors read his post and begin producing these or adapting them for our engines. How much would you pay to safeguard your CTD from meltdown??? Even if you lose an injector, you can still drive it home without fear... ... ... . I think there is some money to be made here.

JMHO

well the block and crank is at high performance machine and we talked alot, he wants to lighten the crank, but i want the inertia for pulling, how do you guys like the helix 2 or is there something better

You need to get in touch with greg houge (Comp461 on this board) with the particulars for your truck and he can give you definite answers.
