I checked with DCM some months ago , they said they had nothing saying that this had been done to my truck [ previous owner ] so then I stopped by a dealer in my area about 8 wks ago , 10 days after called to see if parts came in , they said no & they would give me a call when they did come in .
6 wks after I 1st stopped I called again , round & round & round , serv. -parts-serv. , by about the 7th on hold answered I said that I've talked to the same 2-3 people for the last 1/2 hour and thats all I get is transfered in circles , this time they say they will call again , that was 2 wks ago .
Has anybody had this recall done , or had the shock tower fail ?

The recall was done on my truck. The dealer sent the truck to a welding shop to get it done. One day was all it took, no hassle. Dropped it off and picked it up the next day. I have heard of failures, but it takes some rowdy driving on rough terrain to do it.

happens more often than i like. its not just the vibrations, its also that the back of the mount collects dirt and salt and moisture and rusts out from the back side. you dont see it happening but it is and finally a good bump or some vibrations can crack it the rest of the way and it fails.

forget the warranty work if its being a PITA. find a good welder and stitch up both sides of both mounts. and clean out the back of the mount between it and the frame

After making this post , they told me that the parts were in , but I had to call them .
What I have noticed is that the bottom spring seat is very rusted , has anyone sourced that part , welded to axial housing & also attaches to the control arms .

that coil mount is a one piece unit as far as i know. you need to remove the entire mount assembly and install a new one.

There are 2 versions... ... ... one before they crack and a different solution if it has cracked. There is no welding to the axle housing. Get it done they all will fail if left untouched.

Bought my 95 new. When I checked with the dealer on doing the recall several years ago, he didn't have a welder with any kind of certification. I decided to keep a eye on things, and so far so good at 230,000 miles.

I drive a lot of bad roads/pipelines and have considering having things beefed up abit.

Guess it's time.
