I bought a VP44 from a guy and it has a Bosch part number

0 470 506 041. I cannot find what application this pump is for. Can anyone enlighten me on this. I would like to know if I can run this on my 99 without hindering the performance. Truck has a S. O. motor with an 028 pump on it now, Comp box, and a Goerends transmission. I got this brand new pump for cheap and just want to know if I can use it or trade in for a core.

It sure doesn't sound close to what is used in our application, SO or HO...

Best place for accurate info is one of the actual rebuilders, like II or Blue Chip...

The '028' is the number of the pump you want. That is the 245 HP pump that supercedes the old numbers for the High Output pump on the 98. 5-02 CTD in the Dodge Ram application. I am not at work, but I'll try to remember to check my list on Monday to see what the '041' fits and get back to you. :)

If you take the part number that you listed (0470506041) and change the last two numbers from "41" to "14" it could be the pump listed in the link below for the 2000 year model.

Industrial Injection Service Inc. : 24 Valve VP44 Fuel Pump 1998 - 2002

Perhaps, but I also ran that number and came up with a lising for it, but no application - it's a valid number:

VP44 parts -- Cross Drive Shaft,Distributor Head,Drive Shaft,Feed Pump,Holder Delivery Valve,Regulating Valve -- chinahanji parts plant

Back at work! (Drat it!!!) As "wlowe" says, the part number for the 2000 model 245HP pump was 0 470 506 014. It has now been superceded to the 0 470 506 028. I do not see any pump with the '041' at the end.

Hope that's helpful...

Right on, the pump number in fact is 0 470 506 041. Guess I'll just have to put it on and see what happens. I already have an '028' pump on the truck. There's nothing wrong with it, I just wanted to see if I can use this other pump as a spare with no performance changes or troubles.

Don't do it!

The 041 is an industrial application pump from Cummins, not for a vehicle. Bosch does not recommend installing it on the 5. 9L ISB in the Dodge. There are different parts in it.
