I am in the market for new exhaust and was wondering which would be better: 4", or 5". I am not interested in loud and will put a free flow type muffler on whichever one as to avoid the dreaded "drone" that I read so much about. I was looking at a 4" system from J. Jardine and posed the same question to them. They informed that with 5" I would lose some turbo spool up. Does that sound right? Any advice is much appreciated.

go 4". 5" will drone alot more with little to no benifit besides sound. rip sells a 4" kit for like 300 bucks with a muffler.

If your a Wyoming Cowboy, where in Wyoming? Look at the Dubios Phone book for Jardine, a great exhaust system and a good price!! Jardine has been around for us hotrodders since the 50's with great products. Bought my first set of headers for a flat head V8 from Jardine in mid 50's.

tough guy wintering in Laramie! I spent one year there going to school and it was brutal... . but it is no treat anywhere in Wyo during the winter! I am in Casper now so I would have to pay the shipping from Dubois. (quoted me 50$) I am trying to get out that way to rodeo a little before school starts again so maybe I'll pick one up. Thanks for the advice

I had the Aeroturbine muffler for a year on my truck, finally changed it to the Rokktech, a couple weeks ago. All I can say is I wish I had known about TDR before I spent $250 on the Aeroturbine, it is a nice polished muffler, and is a straight through design but it is really loud and I got alot of drone. I liked it at first but it got old, with the Rokktech I don't have to turn up my stereo as loud, and I don't have to roll up my windows to talk on the phone. My 06 already has 4" plumbing, I like the Rokktech becasue it is completely straight through and not much louder than stock sound, and it only costs $150.

I bought the Jardine in 02 and installed it myself. Hangers all worked fine but was to loud for my tastes. Installed a small resonator up front and it killed the drone. Got that from Rip. Would order band clamps no matter who's you buy as crush clamps are very unforgiving if you want to change anything. DW

Wyomingcowboy Jardine exhaust

If you are going to Dubois, call ahead if you have the time and they will install the system for you for not much more than the shipping. Good deal! and they do good work and no I don't have stock in Jardine, just think this is a good product for a fair price.
