I have Blown the #4 injector line twice now in the last 2 days, and this is now the fifth time that it has blown out any ideas what could be causing this??

what year truck?? fill out signature so we can help

You have to be a detective - look at his public profile, he has pretty much the same truck you do... :-laf

BUT, it certainly DOES help to get at least SOME info on the vehicle advice is being asked for! :-laf:-laf:-laf

What do you mean "blown out"? Is it leaking from one of the ends, or is it physically breaking? If it's leaking, it may not have been torqued correctly, and the end isn't matching up with the injector, or rail any more. If that's the case, you need to replace the line, and make sure it's torqued correctly.

Try using a "Crows Foot style" wrench on a ratchet with an extension torqued to the proper specification.

Or Just tighten it till you strip it and then back it off a 1/2 turn :-laf :)

10-4 Ill give it a try - do you think that it could be a clogged injector?

Anything is possible it could be clogged. The only way to tell is to swap the injector either with another one from your engine and see if that line blows out or with a brand new one.

I thought that 3rd gen's were electronically fired

A clogged injector will not cause a line to leak, as the pressure on the common rail engine is always present in the lines up to the injector when the engine is running.

Ironicly, my first generation line was #4!

High rail pressure such as some boxes can deliver may exacerbate the issue, but are not really the root cause. #4 and #6 are the two lines that seems to give the trouble on third gens. Originally #6 had no stabilizing bracket to dampen vibrations, but the new kit from Dodge includes a bracket. #4 has a bracket, but perhaps you line is being tweaked, stressed, or twisted on installation. Make sure it is lying exactly in place with no twisting after tightening, and the bracket's foot is laying flat against the intake cover before tightening its hold down bolt.
