This is our Upstate Bombers Dyno Day!

It is officially the 1st of September. It will be on the west side of Syracuse.

$75 for 2 runs on the dyno. It starts at 8 am. DD is going to bring his grill and hamburgers. Every one is responsible for their own beverages. ;) If anybody wants to bring hot dogs, chips, salad or something, feel free.

DD would appreciate it if you would e-mail him at the address below if you are coming. It makes it easier to plan for dyno time and food.

Directions are coming soon!

ATTENTION... ... ... all lifted trucks, the door is only 8 feet high, if you are over this height you will not fit and wont be able to run, but if you can put smaller tires on, please do so you can run!

We will do as many trucks as we can in a day or as many as the operator wants to do. A typical day is 12-15 trucks depending on how fast we get the strapping down done.

We all want to have a good time and do a lot of BSing!

Finally if you have some wrenching to do bring it also, we can tackle that as well, looking forward to meeting some new friends and growing the Upstate Bombers crowd a little more.

I may be able to make it on the 1st. We had previously wanted to use a gift certificate for a weekend in Buffalo we got for X-mas, but we haven't set anything in stone yet. Heck, it don't expire 'til 12/31 anyway. I told my friend with the F-250 about it, but alas, his truck has been in and out of the shop several times in the last few weeks. Turbo. Go figure. My tounge still hurts from biting it. It would like to see what I can put down at the rear wheels with a "stock" motor.

Would gassers be allowed? Another friend of mine (the one that wants a 4x4 dually) has an '06 Charger he would like to test.

What is involved with a dyno? I've never seen or read up on what is involved. I basically only know that a machine measures the output of the motor by some rollers that cause resistance on the rear wheels.

Maybe I'll dyno the wifes truck, I don't want you guys seeing the cancer that is ravaging the doors of my truck!:-laf

Can I offer some insight???... .

-By the looks of his shop in the photos you better make sure someone gets a couple pieces of LONG flex tubing in 5"or6" OD to slide over the tailpipes to get the soot out. If you do not he will end up with one heck of a mess in his shop that may create bad feelings or a clean up that could be expensive to pay for.

-You will need to make sure he has an oliptical sensor and some reflective tape for the balancers to read your torque. Most every dyno I have been too or on uses them otherwise you may only get HP pulls.

-It takes us for strapping and unstrapping 4 guys to do the job. 2 strap the truck,1 seals the exhaust and the other lines up the oliptical sensor. Once you get a pattern down you may find you can get more done than you think. Our best was 50 trucks in a 8 hour dyno rip day.

-Also beware if he has a dirt lot and it rains. Mud is a bad problem for a dyno so you will need to try and make sure the drive tires stay clean.

-Make sure the trucks are properly warmed and at operating temps when you pull in to dyno, otherwise numbers will be down and may not yeild what you want.

Remember,if this is his first ever diesel deal he may be slow and a tad careful so be paitent. Help with clean up goes a long way to make his job easier later and builds a good relationship with the owner. Also break for lunch and feed the guys in the dyno, they will appreciate it,trust me,LOL.

Good Luck and have fun gang... ... . Andy

I'm in!! Jill is the best! She said we can hold off on the Buffalo trip til later.

I can just picture the walls and ceiling of this guys shop at the end of the day if we don't vent the exhaust!!

Jeff- Bring your '93! That way the Green Weenie can play with someone it's own age:-laf:-laf

AH HA! You are going to bring the white beast! :-laf
