Started up this morning and gage was working normally, went out for lunch and now the pointer is below empty and the low fuel light is on. Judging by the miles since last fill up, should have about 3/4 tank. Could this be anything other than the sender in the tank? Guess it would be a good opportunity to add a draw straw, but not at all looking forward to dropping the tank.

Just a thought, wonder if the extra fuel that my AirDog is circulating back through the tank makes it tough on the sender unit?

I have a thread about the fuel level floats going bad. Several guys are trying different floats coated with different stuff. I took the DC sender / float out and changed the whole concept to a mechanical gauge (Tempo) reloacated and am testing it right now (second tank of rating the gauge linearity). I also changed the float to a industrial poly float.

Reset the trip meter after each fill up and refill around the 500 mile mark. . Works for me. Usually a 27 gallon fill up, so I have about 120 miles to spare...
