Folks, I just took delivery of my latest Cummins Dodge, this is the fourth Cummins for me and I hope this one stays around a long time. Got to this 2007. 5 3500 DRW in a strange way. I actually had traded my 2001. 5 3500 DRW for a 2008 F-450. The only reason I did this was I had purchased a new Lance 1181 camper and I thought I really needed the extra pay-load of the Ford which is almost 5,900 lbs in 4X4 as compared to the 3,200 lb pay-load of my 01 Dodge. Well folks I am here to tell you that Ford is full of crap about that pay-load. That Lance camper at 4,029 lbs dry put that ford on the ground, the trailer hitch was almost dragging the ground. So I returned to Dodge in a hell of a hurry as the Ford only had 2,250 miles on it when I got rid of the thing.

The new Dodge however was a real trying experiance. The truck I got was supposed to be Black which was one of the only colors I was going to accept. It had to be a 6 speed manuel and meet CA emmisions. Dealer found me the truck in Oregon and that was not easy as very few 6 speeds are out there new and 2007's. Trouble was the truck wasn't Black it's that damn Silver. I didn't know this until I went to pick it up after all of the paper work etc was already done and my trade in ( the Ford) was gone. I cut a deal with the dealer (kinda) to personize that silly Silver color. I am going to install a different hood and do some Stripes on this truck. Trouble is which Hood? Dodge has some of the Hoods from the V10 RT or what ever that was, but I'm not sure about that look. There are a couple of after market Co's making Hoods some of these have pretty good looking Double scoops. So the question I have do any of you guys have a line on any of these Hoods? Does anyone actually have one installed so that I may see a picture or two? Any help would be great! Thannks guys.

I was impressed with the Reflexxion hood on my 98'. Not to push any buttons, but what is wrong with a Silver colored truck??

there is a lot of hoods out there but, most are fiberglass. The OEM SRT-10 hood is the only metal hood I could find.

not to get off subject but your truck is awesome looking with that srt 10 hood and the honeycomb grill. were did you get your honeycomb grill

I have the Ram Air Hood on my truck but it's silver. I like the material it's made from and it looks good... ... in my opinion.

I also have the ram air hood with dual scoops I got mine painted to match my truck color was perfect so was the fit 900. 00 complete

JGoss,

There's absolutly nothing "wrong" with a silver truck, if thats a color a person likes. Color on one of these close to $60,000 trucks is a personal thing, and when a feller spends that kind of money you should get every damn thing you want including color. Sadly in my case the dealer nor myself could find a truck with my options list in the two colors I really wanted-- Black or Red--- that met CA emisions. So I settled for the one color I could find and it happens to be the one I like absolutly the least, thus the damn Silver comment. I'm not happy I settled, but I needed the truck and needed it pretty quick. I came up with a couple of cosmetic changes that make that Silver easier to live with. The dealer agreed to help out with those changes because of a couple of interesting twitches in the deal and a big mistake the salesman made.

Folks thanks for all of the reponses and links to those hoods. After looking at rattlbox's picture of his SRT hood that made up my mind. I ordered a SRT hood today from my dealer. Funny thing was I was amazed at the cost of that SRT hood. After looking at the refextion hood and those Ram Air hoods all at between $1,250 and $1,450 dolloors painted ( which is not bad at all considering how they look) the Mopar SRT hood at $657. 00 was a huge bargain. Its steele and "Unpainted" but man what a great price!!

Thanks again guys.

Here's a pic of member OT-OF-Here's truck

I think the black truck and SRT-10 hood are a great combo, though silver should look good too...

I wasn't too big on all silver either, so I tried to mix it up a little with adding black. Working on eliminating all the chrome and going black.

Hey Trampolineman, how did you change the chrome to black?

And JFlagg, I really like the silver painted intercooler end caps.

Ryan, when I bought the truck it had chrome all over it. Being I can't stand chrome, I swapped parts with a truck we had at work. It was a standard truck with all black parts. My next mission is the bumpers. I'd like to get some aftermarket bumpers, but lately I've bought alot of other things and drained my funds. I'm thinking of putting Hurculiner on the chrome part of the bumpers for the time being.

Rbattelle, actually thats an aftermarket intercooler, forgot which brand he said it was, but its all aluminum. So thats not paint, just shiny aluminum;)
