I've been on the www.dodge.com/towing website trying to figure out the GCWR of my 04 2500 SLT. Its a standard cab 4x4 long bed AUTO with 3. 73 gears.
The Dodge website offers two engine choices: 5. 9L 24V Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine (17000 lbs GCWR) OR 5. 9L Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine- 610 lb-ft. (20,000 lbs GCWR).
Forgive my ignorance as a recent convert from Ford, but which engine do I have?
This is what I know about my truck: Build date was 01/04. The data plate on side of engine states "325 advertised HP @2800 RPM". There is no torque rating listed. From this I assume it is the 04. 5, 610 lb-ft, but I want to make sure because of the 3000 lbs difference in the GCWR.
Thank you - Brian
