Well, the time is getting near for my son to get the keys to the 1st Gen! In April of '08, he'll get the keys.

We've been getting some stuff done to it to make sure it's good to go. We had the rear diff serviced, transmission serviced and the detent fixed, an electrical short fixed, we just had a tie rod end replaced and the plate that the steering gear bolts which in turn is bolted to the frame because it was cracked. Also, we had a new belt, and fuel filter installed. Oh and new tires too. The old tires were Load Range C! I couldn't believe it. I didn't pay much attention to the tires, since it was hardly ever driven except in good weather. It now has some 265/75/16 BFG All Terrain T/As in Load Range E. Bring on the snow!

We also removed the step bars for a cleaner look and the tool box to allow more room for dirt bikes.

No, I am really his long lost son, lol. I am a little older than 16, but I would have liked to have had one when I was that age. Had I known then what I know now, I would have driven a tractor for 15hr days all summer in 94, when the neighbor traded in his 89 W250 auto for a Chevy. He says he regretted the trade on the way home with the Chevy.

I wouldnt give something that nice to my son. Let him work and BUY it, maybe. I think he needs one more like Bill Gilbert's, less the go-fast goodies. :-laf

He's a good boy! He thinks he has to save up and buy it which he's doing. Little does he know, it'll be a gift. Please don't tell him! He does save and save and save for his dirt bike upgrades, and upkeep, so he's learning the value of a dollar for sure.

Oh and there are NO go fast goodies on it.
