Ferd advertises that the new 6. 4 powerjoke on the 08 superduty has more HP and Torque then Cummins and duramax. Is it true?

I think it is BS, the new Dodge 6. 7 is advertised as 350/650, the Chevy is advertised as 365/660, the Ford is advertised as 350/650. The Chevy is probably the most powerful, I have driven them and they are faster and more powerful feeling than the Dodge and Ford, even the 05 powerstorke seemed faster than the Dodge, but I would still not trade my Ram for any of them, it will be crankin over long after the others are in the junk yard.

Mashing your foot down on either one mty don't mean a lot. Get them side by side with the same gears and grossing 26,000 pounds of rig and see which one has the best grunt. The inline 6 cylinder is the best bet. :-laf

on power wise all 3 have different gears in the rearend's also makes em feel spunky when if they all had the same gears who would be on top ?

The chevy gmc is the fastest from everything ive heard and read. Its also really ugly imo. My dodge feels like nothing can stop it when its towing and I like the looks. The fords just scream and down shift to much when towing.

In the end Numbers don't matter to much. Which one do you like to look at. they all seem to be really good trucks on paper you just have to look at it in your driveway.

I agree with all of you. I don't care if the other claim more power, they still can't beat an in-line six Cummins. I love my Dodge/Cummins. That's why I'm on my second one. It's also the best looking by a mile.

Powerband

The question I would ask is at what RPM does the competition develop their peak torque? For towing and true GRUNT whoever develops peak at lowest RPM has the most useable power IMO.

my guess would be dodge as well. the past 24v peaked around 1600 and just stayed there til around 2800, where as the others curves look like a horseshoe.

I just caught the end of Fords new commercial saying it tows like 24500lbs and Dodge was at like 15600lbs. I wasn't really understanding where they got that from.

I think the Duramax has the most power on paper, but I'd take the Cummins anytime!

Tonight at the Dodge dealer I saw a F450 King Ranch 4x4 Dually while I was buying my new '07. Some guy traded it for a Dually CTD. Guy must have had some serious buyers' remorse. They were asking $47,999. It's been sitting on the lot for 3 months, according to the salesman.

I'd hate to see what they actually gave him. He must have paid north of $60k for it a few months ago. I think someone thinks a CTD is superior...

Becarefull with Ford's advertising.

They are comparing an F-450 with a factory bed, that is the "class" they are referring to.

Of course it is going to be "best in class", there is no other "450/4500" available with a factory pickup bed.

I think Ford is really bending the rules with their current advertising.

However, I think among 3500's Duramax has the highest HP&TQ, also with a 6-speed auto, and the Ford still has a 5-speed auto I THINK.

I do not know whose 3500 has the highest payload/towing ratings.

I think we all agree and have experience that backs up the fact that the inline diesel is superior to the V8 diesels, who cares about ratings, those are just so the car salesman scum have something to say to thier victims. The Dodge is the only truck with an engine that sounds like a big rig and lasts like a big rig, my buddies brand new Duramax is laughable under the hood, smaller fan & batteries, everything under there is light duty and it is cramped as heck, the exhaust manifold looks like spaghetti, I like my simple CTD.

But, but, but, but, but, but, but ferd looks meaner, and has 2 more cylinders than your cummings do. I've been a deisel micanik for years and those cummings dont got no power. . They aint even got no spark plugs!!

And Micky Dees sells more burgers than TGI Fridays.

Great way to put it!

I always have to let the ferd guys who boast that claim know WHY they can make their claim:

They win government/fleet bids where the cheapest bid gets the sale.

Makes ya mity proud to drive the CHEAPEST truck, doesn't it? Cheap comes with a price somewhere. Cut quality to cut price. Just look at their cheap diesel engines!

Speaking of cramped, have you seen under the small hood of an 08 6. 4 powerJoke? My brother-in-law just bought one. You can't even see the ground from anywhere under the hood.

I too am happy with my CTD.
