I am going to put a fuel pressure gauge on my truck to hopefully save this vp44. I am not wanting a fuel line in the cab so I am looking for a good black faced electronic gauge. What is the best bang for the buck and/or is the most reliable? TIA

If it is for your '03, DiPricol has a new electric gauge. It will be more reliable than a mechanical one. I have one coming from Geno's next week and can hardly wait. It is right at $ 199. 00.

I had a mechanical fuel pressure gauge that the isolator lasted exactly 1 year on... I had an electric one on my '01 that lasted the whole 5 years that I owned it...

Cheers, Bill

Not to contradict BILLUA, but I've had bad luck with the Westach Electic gauge. I've replaced senders three or four times between my '98 and my dad's '01 Overall I like the gauge, gut the senders leak after a while. I just replaced mine with a Isspro mech. gauge. I can't tell you if it last any better, but it is a nice match to the meter cluster. No fuel inters the cab. Got mine from Vulcan. They put together a pretty good kit.

I have had my Westach fuel gauge and sending unit on my truck since Oct 2004 and haven't had any problems with it. I have almost 50,000 miles with the sending unit install. I used a 18" grease gun hose and located the sending unit off the engine.

I have also had a Westach Boost/EGT gauge since 2003. The truck had 38,000 miles on it when I install it. I now have 177,669 miles on the truck as of the last time I fueled up.

I am very happy with the Westach gauges.

Agreed! I remote mounted the tranducer utilizing a grease gun hose on my '01.

The key to sending unit longevity is vibration/pulse isolation!

Cheers

Nothing beats right in plain view. Note they are Westachs and the picture was taken in 01, have upgraded to 0 -30 fuel and 0 - 50 boost due to bombs.

the 30 psi fp gauge is a must. Even with a fresh stock lp you can peg a 15 psi gauge. Mine would tend to stick pegged after my FASS isntall. Here's a trick for those of you who already have a 15 psi Westach. Just replace 15 psi sender with 30 psi sender, you gauge will read 1/2 pressure, but works nicely without having to buy a new gauge. Their 15 and 30 psi gauge are the same, just with different faces.
