Don't have time to wait. Anybody in the Everett WA area have a IP gear puller I can borrow or rent?

Thanks,

Clay

go to autozone or napa or wherever you prefer, get a steering wheel puller, and use it along with the two short bolts out of your intake manifold to pull it... thats if you cant get an IP puller...

That is exactly what I did. I looked at the high dollar pullers, but went cheap and it worked fine.

My gear popped much easier than I expected. I would suggest measuring the exposed shaft length before you pop it loose so you don't waste time like I did. It was my first VP44 change out.

When you say intake manifold are you talking the airhorn?

Clay, I just took a piece of heave angle iron and drilled to holes in it to line up with the holes in the gear, and bought bolts from NAPA. The shaft cleared the front cover enough for it to work. Here is a picture. SNOKING

Make sure the key is at 12 o'clock, only take off the three front injector lines, push the other three against the block. Clean the gear bore and new shaft with something before installing the new pump. (This was in MWFI instructions). SNOKING

If you are having a tough time getting the gear off (aka "It's Stuck"), I just put alot of torque on the puller and take a mini 5Lb sledge and tap the side of the puller a few times.
