Does anyone know the correct capacity for the rear differential with the Mag-Hytec cover?

look where the plug is on your oem cover and fill it to that level

The Mag-Hytec cover comes with a dip stick I think. But I dont know the answer to how much is needed.

If memory serves me right, it's just over 7 qts.

Doing a quick search on MAG HYTEC ONLINE I came up with 8 quarts

I know Mag-Hytec says 8qts. but my understanding is that 8qts. overfills it and makes the axel seals leak. You would think that since they make such a quality cover, they would get the fill capacity correct! #@$%!

I'm new at this. What are "the tubes" and how do I tell when it is filled to the bottom?

I meant the axle tubes

I would look at the factory cover and see where the factory put the drain plug it may be mid way up the axle tubes when in doubt fill it as close as you can to that level. we have put alot of after market covers on these Jeeps and they put the fill plug higher on them and often they blow a ton of oil out of the vent tube and make a huge mess. we use a zip tie as a dip stick to get the level as close as we can.
