went to change out my pod's for some ddp stg III's and am trying to figure out how you are supposed to get the retainer nut off the old injector...

or are the stock injectors different than the pod's and i need to locate the stockers to steal the nut off of them?

here is a pic so you can see what i mean - the top section of the pod inj body is larger than the stg III so the nut wont come off the top

thanks, don

I'd say you need to find your original nuts, Don. If you dont have any, let me know- I may be able to help.

Pete, shut up :-laf

I think you just pull or push the retaining nut off the injector... Am I wrong? I thought I've Done that before. .

you are right bill, they have less cross sectional area at the smallest part of ea orfice

but there may be more to it than that...

deo, i think you can pull the nut off the top of the stockers, but not the pods

don

not hardly - bill was right, i lost almost 20% power going from pods to stg III's. and the truck got louder.

i am gonna drive it for a while and see what it does to mileage. from what i have heard some guys got lousy mileage with the pods. these pods were from bd and must be a good set cuz i could get 20 if i drove it mellow. will post results

don

I get low 20's with pods. Ive been thinking some new era 435's. Anyone here ran both ??

I like the power but want to try and cool it down a little and clean it up some .

Don, BD was at one time selling John Russin's injectors (Buddha Power), so they could be modded POD's or well set etc. I would also guess you'd lose power if you went with their stage 4's:rolleyes:.

Mileage- as long as you have a well tuned setup (timing, afc), and an injector that sprays in the bowl, the right foot will play the most part in MPG's.

ddp confirmed that yesterday

you are pretty sharp

i hear ya on the mileage thing - question is how do i get the afc to come in at 10 psi?

i was thinking about trying a different approach - installing a solenoid and and a hobbs switch adn using my air tank as supply

how do you think that would work?

There are two styles of injectors. With the ones shown in the bottom of the picture the nut does NOT come off. Shadrach
