How can I get rid of my dpf on my 07.5

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Give the truck back...I think?

If you had to do all over

I want to know what I have to do to get rid of the dpf on my new truck. does someone make a chip for this so i can yank that junk out.

Yeah,... get rid of that "junk"!

It's all a communist plot to trick us into breathing cleaner air! ;)

(... and they're trying to make our kids and grandkids do it too!)

Nobody markets a chip for it because it's illegal. I do not own a 07. 5... but I think your best bet is to become a computer programmer and reprogram the system yourself. Or find a way to fool the sensors by the DPF.

Nobody markets a chip for it because it's illegal.

All chips/downloaders/injectors are illegal. That doesn't stop them (yet) from selling them as "off road only".

All companies are working on the 07, but the EPA requires that they (the trucks) be able to identify increased emissions, so they have very complicated systems programmed in, to identify malfunction /tampering.

That makes it extra tough to alter the program, and not get codes.

I am speaking with certainty when I say that nobody has cracked the Cummins/Dodge code. (and I am talking about the 5. 9 engine, so the 6. 7 is even further behind). They only alter some timing /fueling tables, and sensor inputs.

I know this, because I asked one of the vendors for an adjustable idle speed (on the 5. 9), let's say 650 rpm, for better mpg, and they said "we don't have access to that". Also, nobody has been able to raise the rev limiter, or speed limiter yet. It's very twisted software, with built in confusion, and duplicity (secret data backup), to make it hard to crack and figure out all the numbers that need to be changed at the same time to avoid getting an error.

I understand that, however there is a fine line between a company marketing a chip that alters timing and fuel, and marketing a chip that blocks of sensors to an instrument implanted on all trucks required to meet 2007 emissions. I guess I see the big performance companies getting in some serious trouble with the environuts if they really started to market these.

I also find it hard to believe that nobody has cracked the dodge/cummins software yet. I know there are some super-geeks out there that could crack this stuff easily, so they either don't have the right super-geeks working on it or people know about it and they are simply afraid to release the software because of legal problems.

I know I could be pretty far from the truth here, but I am just speaking from what makes sense to me :confused:.

Betterthanstock, maybe I am just too worried to really believe that it's going to be a rough road ahead for all of us diesel heads :{

I was hoping to find something like they have for the mustangs 3rd and 4th o2 sensors the mil eliminaters just some dummy sensors to say all is well. I geuss ill have to see if accel has a gen7 for my truck. Know it works on my really really unhealthy mustang. IM not looking to get rid of the dpf until it casues problems as I do like the propane gas grill smell from the tail pipe. But Im sure all this new technolagy will casue problems in the future. All I wanted was the 68rfe trans. not the world of mess they made under the hood.

cant be to illegal to make off road only parts. I don't know a fast car with 1 cat on nunthe less the 6 that an 04 cobra comes with. all have offroad only catless h and x pipes. I undersatnd the tough computer codes to crack so hopefully in the near future they will have something.

I'd guess that fooling the sensor would be the easiest avenue. Assuming that the sensor measures pressure you'd need to see what the voltage and/or resistance is when the DPF is working correctly. Then, I presume that someone more knowlegable than I could create a simple device to repeatedly send the same signal back up the line. This assumes that the computer isn't smart enough to look for a regen cycle regardless of back pressure after some period of time.

I'm sure someone is working on it.

GRRR, gotta love the man.

"Where are we going, and why am I in this handbasket?" Pretty soon we will only be able to drive our vehicles on certain days to limit emissions, or something of that ridiculous nature. I might have to find a new hobby before I get arrested eventually for "breaking emissions laws. " With all the old cars and my trucks, I'm a prime target for the environuts. I like the environment and all, but there are other places and ways to help it I'm sure. They take away our fun and still let jets fly and tankers cruise and trains run, although they are starting to work on them. After they do everything else they can, I'll give in, but untill then ... #@$%!

It's kinda ironic that the "Tim the Tool Man Taylor" and "More Power" is now on Nick at Night! I guess it's a sign of things of that nature, (more power), are gonna be a thing of the past. Pretty soon we'll be souping up our electrical cars to try to go faster, like we used to. You can't beat the rumble of a big block or the rattle of pure diesel power!

There will still never be a replacement for displacement though as far as I'm concerned!

Have you been brainwashed into that junk science?

If every soccermom in the US drove a tri-axle Petes with a C16 in it, the air would be fine. The clean air laws have nothing to do with cleaning the air or what ever you may believe, and everything to do with conditioning people to continual gov't control of their lives down to the minutest levels.

Its all about control ... and the solution to it can be found 231 years ago in the history books.

Ok... can you show us the "real" science then proving the smog layers in L. A. , China, India, or South Korea are just random acts of nature and the whole clean air thing is just a propoganda tool for the Democrats?

GOOD POST... ...

Well, you see, theirin lies the true crux of the argument: China, India and to an extent S. Korea are the biggest culprits and cause of most of the smog in the western US. As long as they keep expanding their industrial base and continue to run old powerplants and steel mills on high sulfur coal without emission controls, no amount of emissions upgrades in the US or EU are going to amount to much. I did hear that China does claim to be working to meet US/EU emission standards, but in what timeline?
